NEW DELHI: China continues to build border infrastructure development at 'a very hectic pace' and has not reduced troops along the LAC, Army chief General Manoj Pande said Friday, amidst the three-year military confrontation in eastern Ladakh.

新德里：印度陆军参谋长潘德周五表示，中国继续紧锣密鼓建设边境基础设施，并没有减少实控线沿线的军队部署。目前拉达克东部军事对峙已持续3年。

“Overall, the situation along the LAC is stable but we need to keep a very close watch as it develops,” he said.

他说：“总的来说，实控线沿线的局势是稳定的，但我们需要密切关注进展。”

The People’s Liberation Army has kept around 50,000 troops forward deployed, along with heavy weaponry, since making multiple incursions into eastern Ladakh in April-May 2020.

自2020年4月至5月多次进犯拉达克东部以来，中国人民解放军在前沿部署了约5万名士兵和重型武器。

The Indian Army, too, has a “robust” deployment in all three sectors of the 3,488-km long LAC, stretching from eastern Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh, with a “high level” of operational preparedness.

印度军队在3488公里实控线（从拉达克东部延伸到藏南地区）的所有三个区域都有“强有力的”部署，已做好“高水平”的作战准备。

“We have adequate reserves to deal with any contingencies. With the infusion of new technology and weapon systems, our capability development is an ongoing endeavour. Equally, we are focussing on infrastructure development, especially in forward areas like roads, helipads etc,” Gen Pande said, speaking at India Today conclave.

潘德将军在《今日印度》会议上说：“我们有足够的储备来应对任何突发事件。随着新技术和武器系统的投入，我们的能力一直在提升。同样，我们也在关注基础设施建设，特别是道路、直升机停机坪等前沿领域。”

The Army chief expressed hope the diplomatic and military talks with China will resolve the remaining “friction points” at the strategically-located Depsang Plains and Demchok in eastern Ladakh.

印度陆军参谋长表示，希望与中国的外交和军事会谈能解决地处战略位置的德普桑平原和拉达克东部碟木卓克的剩余“摩擦点”。

“It’s only through dialogue and talking to each other that we can find a resolution. In the balance friction points that is what our aim and endeavour is. Till the time it happens, our deployment of forces, alertness level will continue to remain at a high level,” Gen Pande said.

他说：“只有通过对话与谈判，我们才能找到解决方案。在平衡摩擦点，这就是我们的目标和努力所在。在此之前，我们的部队部署和警戒水平将继续保持在高水平。”
