India set to overtake China as most populous nation
India's big cities are facing a burgeoning housing crisis amid a swelling population as the country is set to overtake China by 2027 to become the most populous country in the world, according to a United Nations report.
The country's most populous state, Uttar Pradesh, has proposed legislation that aims to discourage couples from having more than two children, becoming the second state ruled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's to make such a proposal.
Under the state go nment proposals unveiled on Saturday, couples with more than two children would not be allowed to receive go nment benefits or subsidies and would be barred from applying for state go nment jobs.
india should strictly control its population otherwise it'll stress and swallow the economy
Two child policy is implemented slowly in India. Currently two states are adopting it. May delay overtaking china lol
that will be the biggest problem of india..
Finally...India beats China! India! India namba one! India namba one!
India should follow China to have family planning if they can't effort to take care of their own people.. what the point to have so much people in ur country when most of them are poor.
Is this even a good thing?
India going’s to need not just more houses but also more toilet.
They shud suspend their space program n chanel the fundings towards the citizens health n welfare program
What the fuxk is the point. Its already so filthy, dilapitated, and never going to develop to a first world.
What's the point.. their are poor and suffering...

Congrats India Good Luck with Governance & Poverty Eradication
India is finally No.1 .
India big cities are facing a burgeoning housing crisis.
The pandemic did not slow the growth did it?
Obviously not. In fact, its birth rate is so high that even the 1918 H1N1 pandemic (erroneously called the Spanish Flu) which is a deadlier pandemic did not decimate it (India was also affected by the 1918 H1N1 pandemic).
Did poverty and disease and even constant wars prevent Africa from growing its population? No.
India already so many people in poverty and they still want to produce so many lives??????????........... Their go nment should educate their people.
I wonder what is the reason behind India's ambition to be the world's most populous nation.
