G20 summit: PM Modi calls for global fight against drug-terror nexus

G20峰会：莫迪总理呼吁全球联手打击毒品与恐怖主义关联网络

In his address at the G20 summit in Johannesburg on Saturday, PM Narendra Modi pitched for sustainable and inclusive growth and made four proposals, including a coordinated global effort to combat the drug-terror nexus, calling drug trafficking a threat to public health, stability and security and a source of terror financing.

He pushed for reconsidering the parameters of growth, saying the exsting framework has left a vast section of the population deprived of resources and led to overexploitation of nature.

Modi, who was instrumental in getting the African Union as a permanent member of G20 at the New Delhi meet of the grou two years ago, emphasised the continent has suffered the most because of skewed growth priorities. “Today, as Africa hosts G20 Summit for the first time, it is imperative for us to reconsider the parameters of development.”

The PM mentioned “integral humanism”, an idea associated with BJP’s ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyay, as a path forward. “We will have to look at the individual, society and nature as an integrated whole. Only then can we achieve true harmony between progress and nature,” he said.

总理提到，与印度人民党思想家迪恩·达亚尔·乌帕德亚伊相关的“整体人文主义”理念是未来的发展路径。“我们必须将个人、社会与自然视为一个有机整体。唯有如此，才能实现发展与自然的真正和谐。”

Batting for a global healthcare response team to bring together experts from G20 countries, he said it will ensure swift measures in case of health emergencies and natural disasters.

The speech was marked by an unabashed advocacy of what Modi called India’s civilisational ethos. India’s civilisational values, he said, can offer ways to reevaluate development parameters.

Focusing on Africa, PM said the continent can benefit from skills transfer. He said Africa’s development and empowerment of its young talent are in the interests of the entire world and proposed a ‘G20-Africa Skills Multiplier Initiative’. This can operate under a “train-the-trainers” model across various sectors, and all G20 partners can finance and support this effort, he added.

针对非洲议题，总理表示该大陆可从技能转移中受益。他指出，非洲的发展及青年人才的赋能符合全世界的利益，并提出“G20-非洲技能倍增计划”。他补充道，该计划可在多个领域采用“培训培训者”模式运作，所有G20成员国均可为这一举措提供资金支持。

“Our collective goal will be to prepare one million certified trainers in Africa over the next decade. These trainers will, in turn, help equip millions of young people with skills. This initiative will have a powerful multiplier effect. It will strengthen local capacity and significantly contribute to Africa’s long-term development.”

PM Modi on Saturday also proposed a G20 Critical Minerals Circularity Initiative, saying that for global growth, sustainability and clean energy are essential, and critical minerals have a huge role to play.

“我们的共同目标是未来十年内在非洲培养100万名持证培训师。这些培训师将进而帮助数百万年轻人掌握技能。这一倡议将产生强大的倍增效应，增强当地能力，并为非洲的长期发展做出重要贡献。”

莫迪总理当天还提出“G20关键矿产循环利用倡议”，称全球增长离不开可持续发展与清洁能源，而关键矿产在其中发挥着至关重要的作用。

Has he seen Minorities of India as INTEGRAL PART OF WHOLE INDIA.? Rather, did he not DEMEAN India's Minorities by telling his Party "they are ALSO Citizens of India . Therefore treat them kindly EVEN IF THEY DO NOT VOTE FOR ME?" Can Leader Ji ever get over the shame of Muslims who went back from Delhi to Lucknow at the outbreak of Covid made to squat like a herd of sheep whereafter POLICE WASHED THEM WITH WATER CANONS OF FIRE ENGINES? Has Leader Ji seen the Southern States of India as INTEGRAL PART OF WHOLE INDIA? Has he not been criticised by Indians of all States for driving the development only of Gujarat? The song "Mohabbat hee na jo samjhe wo zaalim pyar kya jaane" which I referred to at the start has a stanza : "DAWA SAY PHAIDA HOGA KI HOGA ZEHAR E QATIL SAY, MARAJ KI KYA DAWA HAIN YEH KOI BEEMAR KYA JAANE" That stanza is a description of Leader Ji as Hakim who will give dawa for Integrated development.
