India is building SSNs, SSBNs and SSKs - along with Dozens of Frigates, Corvettes, Minesweepers, Patrol Vessels, etc. More than 50 ships are in the pipeline with each ship made in India.
KJ500 AWACS is already outdated and Pl15s capabilities are already exposed. Pl17 is an upgrade that is not something new anymore. Besides India has already testing the Astra 2 missile as well as procuring the Russian air to air very long range missiles. Even the J35 if and when the Chinese provide them will have to face more sophisticated autonomous stealth Ucavs and L-band anti-stealth AESA radars with Optical Targeting radars.

In 2026 india maintains the best anti submarine warfare platforms in Indian Ocean and you are betting on 90's technology based Stirling AIP which has moving pistons which makes it detectible under sea. The best role for these submarines is for sea denial and if oversmart generals in GHQ decide to use it in attack role then they will learn their lesson.

I think these are short wins. We should focus on building things ourselves because in the long term we would be self reliant. Now if compare it to Pakistan which is interested in buying readymade equipment , we should be happy as they arent focused on building it themselves.
I know we arent building many things ourselves. But we should give this a high priority over all. Make in india is important for our future as it makes us self reliant.

You're taking it lightly. Pakistani plans to add nuclear missile in these submarines and advantage is that it can hide inside the ocean for 21 to 45 days, sufficient for nuclear retaliation. It should be seen as a counter to our Indian SSBN. The only way to counter this AIP submarines, India needs SSN and sensor grid(underwater, P8i and satellites) which India is lacking. SSN will come after 2036, satellites will not be there until 2030 and more P8i orders take time to deliver. So it is a big threat and must consider this a threat only.
