Working 12 hours in a day would hardly impact private sector's workers, because despite of having labour laws, they have to work that long in a day for kee their bosses happy. It is good not to go to office than going to office and then leaving it at 4PM or 5PM.

Despite of labour laws, Indian workers are always exploited (mostly by Indian bosses). Do you really think Indian workers are enjoying Saturday and Sunday fully?

The answer is No!

The weak points in Indian workers are they can never say NO to their boss. They feel guilty to ask leave. This has to be changed first.

Many are very poor in India and India isn't nearly as mechanized and productive as many other countries with their businesses. I don't see anything changing.
