Top three Indian IT companies set to roll out 1.05 lakh job offers in 2021-22
NEW DELHI: India's top three IT companies -- TCS, Infosys and Wipro -- are set to roll out around 1.05 lakh job offers in the financial year 2021-22 (FY22). This brings a drtic U-turn in hiring sentiment which the tech giants said may continue for the next few quarters.
Companies are signing record deals worth billions of dollars, which means that they need more employees ready to get into projects when they commence.
The three companies have already added 40,887 employees to its workforce in the first quarter of this fiscal, compared to a net decline of 9,088 people in the same period of last year.
Largest software exporter Tata Consultancy Services said it will be hiring more than 40,000 freshers from campuses in the country in FY22.
"From the campus in India, we hired 40,000 last year. We will continue to hire and hire 40,000 or more this year in India," its chief of global human resources Milind Lakkad stated, adding that lateral hiring will also be "robust" this year.
He said the Covid-19 pandemic-related restrictions don't pose any difficulties in hiring.
IT major Infosys stated that it will hire about 35,000 engineering graduates from colleges globally this year.
IT companies are drawing up robust hiring plans for the second year on a trot, as digital deals continue to flow in and customer projects are ramped up.
Infosys chief operating officer Pravin Rao said rising attrition in the industry poses a near-term challenge as the demand for digital talent explodes.
Following similar move, Wipro announced that it will roll out over 30,000 offer letters this year for freshers to join in financial year 2022-23.
Wipro's IT services workforce crossed the milestone of 2 lakh with a closing headcount of 2,09,890. Its attrition was at 15.5 per cent in the June 2021 quarter.
all these poor freshers will be given only peanuts as sry..
Atleast they will get something as sry. Better than being unemployed.
Do you expect freshers to be paid in 7 Digit sry by the companies.
Many employees with experience are still struggling with 6 Digit sry.
At least they will be getting more than 3 times minimum wages offered by govt for highly skilled workers
For Double Digit growth in India, we now Badly need Just 1-Single Law!!
Add to your list... Uniform civil law and code
Good news. It is a chance for the freshers; they can get not only knowledge but also experience. Their experience will lead them to the top of the ladder gradually. The need of the hour is a job, so freshers should not worry about sry, join, get knowledge and experience.
And what about the mental torture due to working ?
Nothing comes Free
Dear Dinesh, thanks for your comment. Reg. mental torture, if it is so, why does a person continue there, he can leave and find another job. Pessimists have no place in the world.
If the same hiring comes in the manufacturing and core engineering sectors, not just IT, it will be great for the country
