Train Travel in China vs India (From Someone Who’s Done Both)

中印火车旅行对比，这位外国女子亲历两国铁路后的真实感受

After travelling extensively across China and visiting India twice, we wanted to compare what it’s really like travelling by train in both countries.

From high-speed rail and station security to sleeper trains, food, comfort, cleanliness, ticket booking, and the overall travel experience, we’re sharing our honest thoughts based on our own journeys, not just what you’ve heard online.

Both China and India have some of the largest railway networks in the world, but travelling by train in each country feels completely different.

我在中国多地坐火车旅行，也去过印度两次，所以想对比一下在这两个国家坐火车的真实体验。

从高铁、车站安检，到卧铺列车、餐食、舒适度、卫生状况、购票方式，再到整体出行感受，我们会结合亲身旅途分享真实看法，不只是网上流传的那些说法。

中国和印度都拥有世界上规模前列的铁路网，但两国的火车出行体验截然不同。

印度车票提前 190 天开售，车票很快售罄。临时买票大概率只能买到无座票，乘客可能站在车门处，甚至坐在车顶。中国车票只提前12天放票。

印度最好的列车 —— 巴拉特特快，理论最高时速 180 公里。但铁路轨道是英国殖民时期遗留下来的，轨道条件受限，实际运行时速大约只有 80 公里。以德里到金奈为例，距离和天津到深圳相近，最快列车全程要 32 小时。中国高铁轨道专门为高速列车重新修建。G/D 字头列车时速可达 300–350 公里。天津西到深圳的线路，最快 7 小时就能跑完，我们乘坐的班次耗时约 10 小时。中国高铁里程超 4.5 万公里，高铁属于普通大众常用的交通工具。

印度普通列车，没有稳定空调，窗户装有防护栏杆，环境条件差。中国高铁的座位宽大，带扶手、脚踏、USB 充电口，储物空间充足，空调制冷效果好。

印度的巴拉特特快在印度国内已经算是很不错的列车，但两国铁路基础设施底子差距很大，直接造成出行体验天差地别

It's not meaningful to compare India with China，India is supposed to compare with Pakistan Or Iran. China has large population is because of huge land and highly unified natons，it's equal to whole Europe. Two countries shouldn't be compared just because of same large population，for example you can't compare US with Brazil just because of simaliar large population.

拿印度和中国对比没有意义，印度更适合和巴基斯坦或者伊朗比较。中国人口多，国土幅员辽阔、国家高度统一，体量相当于整个欧洲。不能仅仅因为两国人口多就拿来对比，就像不能只因为美国和巴西的人口差不多，就把两国放在一起比较。

I don't know why this paid negative pr is going on against India everywhere on the internet. There are undoubtedly certain aspects like technology and transportation in which china is ahead and there are some aspects like tradition, culture, nature's beauty.. in which India is ahead.
Beside these , Good and bad people are everywhere. You can't judge a country with 1.5 billion people by some people.

It's totally insane to compare the two countries as they have a totally different quality of living standard , culture and level of technology sophistication. They should make a video of comparing train transportation between China and Japan and Korea ( I.e., the North East Asia).

India is at least 50 years behind China in development, infrastructure, law and order, cleanliness, hygiene, civic sense and manners. Actually China is even ahead of USA and European countries but they wont admit that either. China is ahead of every other country in many things.

We dont need a comparison as we know china has invested heavily on railway transport and that is because to avoid buying airplanes from west as it will create dependencies. And now they have realised they ned to build plane and have build one. How sustainable these trains are yet to be found out.
