They have been the backbone of industrialization.. recently a connecting link project was inaugurated.. there was a landslide from top of the moutain which was a temporary issue that's fixed.. this road is an engineering marvel and has reduced time from 1-2 hours to merely 10 mins.. mistakes are avoided if someone doesn't do anything!!

Agree. It's growing but not enough. Still tons to do. I visit India and see some improvements. Still too much corruption. Bribes taken. Money intended to improve the community is used to enrich the lives of the elite. Folks don't exactly pay their taxes properly and a lot of black money going on. I can understand why folks say the growth is superficial. The 7% GDP is really more like 4% when one peels back the layers. The country needs to figure a way to lift the many many folks still living in poverty. Saw a video talking about how India needs to build up their industrial base more. Do more manufacturing. Not everyone is book smart.

That is true in literally every single country (I checked most major economies). This mindset that all problems are due to the rich is the reason why people stay poor. We should try to become rich ourselves, not hate on people who are already rich, that is just jealousy.

India has long ways to go. Just because it has space and nuclear technology means nothing. Still too much corruption. Money intended to improve the community is pocketed by the elites. Folks don't pay taxes properly. Everyone is cheating on some level or the other.

Was watching the movie "Dhurandhar" last night again. There is one line that sticks out to me. "India's number one enemy is Indians. Number two is Pakistan." Put aside the Pakistan comment and focus on the first sentence.

Come on guys. I learn from my folks and my husband things that other family memebers do to get ahead in India. There is sooo much illegal and unethical behavior. It's ridiculous.
