@jackbleiham8475 Actually, it does not lead on gas; quite the opposite, China uses very little gas for electricity production, as it's transitioning directly from coal to renewables.
As for nuclear, China is certainly trending up and should before long become the country that produces the most electricity from nuclear, but it isn't there yet. Though if you mean leadership as in the country that can build nuclear capacity the fastest and for the lowest cost, then China already dominates, with Russia in second.

@laslie-u6u China does use an "all of the above" approach to energy, where investments are based on intrinsic and extrinsic costs (such as how increasing fossil fuel usage forces them to spend more money on healthcare).
And that is precisely why China is currently reducing the amount of fossil fuels it uses. China is literally the country with the lowest prices in the whole world for solar panels, wind turbines, and batteries; renewables are quite a bit cheaper than fossil fuels for them, even disregarding the external costs such as the higher incidence of respiratory issues associated with fossil fuels. Plus, neither the oil lobby nor the coal lobby has any power over the chinese. The logical consequence is that China is switching to renewables as fast as it can; it's already installing a Germany worth of renewable power generation per year, and trying to ramp that up.

中国实行多元并举的能源策略，投资会综合核算直接成本与隐性成本，比如化石燃料消耗过大，会增加医疗支出。

这也正是中国逐步减少化石能源使用的原因。中国的光伏板、风机、储能电池价格全球最低，即便不算化石能源带来的呼吸道疾病等隐性代价，可再生能源也比化石能源更划算。

而且石油、煤炭利益集团无法干预国家决策。因此中国全力转型可再生能源，每年新增装机量相当于整个德国的发电规模，还在持续扩大。

It's lazy thinking. Renewable energy has been technologically feasible and cost competitive with fossil based energy for over a decade now in large, developed countries/grids. In many smaller, less developed countries solar and wind are even more economically advantaged because these countries don't already have the infrastructure to make use of oil and gas (terminals, pipelines etc) while solar and wind can scale from fairly small, local installations. It would be like being a country with no telecoms and then investing a lot of money into landlines... I've seen examples of countries throw billions of dollars into infrastructure that use imported fossil fuels rather than invest in renewables that whose energy sources are free.
China has figured out that it is far better to go into renewables hard rather than being dependent on foreign sourced fossil fuels like their neighbors Japan and South Korea.

这种想法太过保守。十多年来，大型发达国家的电网体系中，可再生能源技术已经成熟，成本也能和化石能源持平。

很多欠发达国家发展光伏、风电反而更划算，它们没有成熟的油气码头、管道等配套设施，而风光能源可以从小型本地设施起步，逐步扩建。

这就好比一个通信零基础的国家，不搞移动通信，反而重金铺设固定电话线。我见过不少国家，斥巨资搭建进口化石能源配套设施，却不愿投资零成本的可再生能源。

中国早已看清现实，大力发展新能源，远比像日韩那样依赖进口化石能源要稳妥得多。

The only way this world is able to possibly change for the better, is to have a stronger China to rival the US. Without the economic threat China poses to the US, the US would be much more dangerous and authoritative to the rest of the world. Oil is becoming more obsolete, but the US can't let it go because they are such an oil rich nation and make too much money from it. The US has developed safe, nuclear power for over half a century, but refuses to implement it due to the greediness of their oil companies. China develo fusion power is ACTUALLY going to be a game-changer because the US can't control how the Chinese decide to implement it into their own infrastructure as well as who they decide to sell the technology to once it's ready.

世界想要往好的方向发展，就必须有强大的中国制衡美国。如果没有中国带来的经济制衡，美国会对全球更加霸道专横。

石油的价值正在衰退，但美国坐拥丰富石油资源，靠着石油获利巨大，始终不愿放手。美国半个世纪前就掌握了安全核电技术，却因石油巨头的贪婪迟迟不推广。

中国研发核聚变能源将会改写格局，美国无法干预中国的基建应用，也无法阻止中国成熟后对外输出这项技术。
