I would say it is China who started it first with E-bike as mandatory's law in China around 90s then started working on EV counterpart and when Elon heard the news he rushed to China backed by Warren Buffet and Charlie Monger to beg the chinese help him create his Tesla company in US....this is why both Warren Buffet and Charlie Monger invested on BYD because Elon couldn't afford it

The Australian government needs to get serious about charging infrastructure. Complaints over Easter only emphasise this, while most people can charge at home for local trips, it's during holidays that the issue becomes a big problem. Maybe they could concentrate more on holiday locations and common holiday routes, specially regional areas, but something needs to be done. The one big thing that will hold back EV adoption is simply that, lack or charging once outside large towns and cities.
