But instead of simply waiting for delivery of our new #car ... we travel all the way to Hefei, #china to visit the massive NIO #factory F2, one of the most advanced #electricvehicle factories in the world.

There we get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how modern electric cars are built — and the highlight of the trip: seeing our own car being produced on the assembly line.

After production, the car begins its long journey by cargo ship from China to Norway. Weeks later, the moment finally arrives…

To be very honest, I am not concerned about that, i guarantee you that other countries listen in way more than China ever could if you know what I mean. German car makers are actually the ones sending most data back to their servers, not saying they are spying, but it is what it is... All modern cars, phones, computers and so on send user data back to their companies, be it for ease of the user friendliness of their systems or to collect your information, who knows.I think this is highly political and mainly purposed to redirect customers from buying certain products rather then posing any threat. One thing is for sure, I will not go back to buying anything else than Chinese cars, I say that because I do have a German car to compare to as well. Good luck with your choice of car! P.S. Can you believe that the NIO stock price is almost 100x less than the Tesla stock?! Even if Tesla is falling behind in pretty much all they are doing. Americans percieve Chinese companies as high risk. Funny when you think that most of the risk in our world comes from the USA (political circus, tarifs, wars...) while China is stable, peaceful and open for business.

Tesla was also down in early stage when they were spending their stock to build multiple Gigafactory and Nio is doing the same building charging infra structure and automation factories which cost more than Tesla super charge and also they heavily spend on Solid State Battery which are available for renting.

Thank you so much for the insight. I think the biggest problem our car manufacturers are facing, is that they are old, with big old structures in place, a huge board of leaders where every decision to be made takes years, this slows down process and innovation. That compared to China, where companies usually have 1 leader or just a hand full, decisions are made immediately and technology is implemented. Innovation is a daily effort which shows in the results. Sad to say, but i agree, "we" have fallen far behind.

We are driving EV's for the last 5 years and very happy with it. The price for fuel is now 3 dollar per liter here in norway
