SRIHARIKOTA: The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) on Monday said that the PSLV-C62 mission encountered an anomaly during end of the PS3 stage and a detailed analysis has been initiated.

"Today we have attempted the PSLV C62 / EOS - N1 Mission. The PSLV vehicle is a four stage vehicle with two solid stages and two liquid stages," Isro chief V. Narayanan said.

"The performance of the vehicle close to the end of third stage was as expected. Close to the end of third stage we are seeing more disturbance in the vehicle. Subsequently, there is a deviation in the vehicle observed in the flight path. We are analysing the data and will come shall come back at the earliest," he added.

斯里哈里科塔：印度空间研究组织（ISRO）于本周一发布声明称，PSLV-C62运载火箭任务在三级火箭（PS3）飞行末期出现异常，目前已启动详细原因分析。

印度空间研究组织主席V·纳拉亚南表示：“本次我们执行的是PSLV-C62/EOS-N1任务，该枚PSLV运载火箭为四级构型，包含两级固体燃料火箭、两级液体燃料火箭。”

他补充道：“火箭飞行至三级末期前，各项性能均符合预期；但在三级飞行接近尾声时，箭体出现异常扰动，后续火箭飞行轨迹观测到明显偏差。我们正对飞行数据展开分析，将尽快公布调查结果。”

Isro launched EOS-N1, along with 14 co-passenger satellites and a capsule into a re-entry trajectory in a marathon mission, marking the space agency’s first mission of 2026.

The flight comes months after a rare setback, when PSLV-C61, launched on May 18, 2025, failed to place the EOS-09 earth observation satellite into orbit due to a third-stage anomaly.

The 44.4-metre-tall Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C62) lifted off from the First Launch Pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, in a commercial mission for NewSpace India Limited (NSIL).

此次是印度空间研究组织2026年的首次航天发射任务，这趟耗时良久的发射任务中，该机构将EOS-N1主卫星、14颗搭载卫星，以及一枚返回舱送入再入轨道，任务规模庞大。

而就在数月前，印度航天曾遭遇罕见失利：2025年5月18日发射的PSLV-C61火箭，同样因三级火箭出现异常，未能将EOS-09地球观测卫星送入预定轨道。

本次发射的PSLV-C62极地卫星运载火箭箭高44.4米，从斯里哈里科塔萨迪什·达万航天中心一号发射台升空，这是印度新空间印度有限公司（NSIL）委托的商业发射任务。

That means there was more to it than the previous PSLV-C61 than the Audit/Investigation Committee could analyse. They had fully incorporated the suggestions before launching PSLV-C62 today, but since it failed at the same end of Stage 3 means this time, it will be a longer investigation of root cause and hence a longer turnaround time. HAL and L&T need to sit together and figure it out. People are already losing faith on HAL, given that it has never put it's head into design and successive Govts have used HAL to copy-paste designs of other countries into it's assembly line to assemble. Companies like Embraer of Brazil were formed 30 years after HAL and are now the 3rd largest manufacturer of commercial planes world wide with their own indigenous engines and designs, while HAL has never put it's head into design. It is this mindset which ISRO has to deal with which could be the root cause of 2 successive failures. It's time India put it's best talent into R&D and give them what they are worth, instead of letting the best talent be hijacked by foreign companies.
