I'm Chinese but not born in China. When I went to China for the first time, I was culturally shocked how developed China was back in 2003. All the ignorant things I have heard about China while growing up in Canada that China was backward and old fashioned, it opened my eyes.

I just came back from Shenzhen last week. I also visited Chongqing, Kunming, Dali, Lijiang and Shangri-La, all very beautiful and must visit places. Taking the trains and planes, the facilities were clean, trains were onetime and super fast, not so much for the airplanes, all my flights was delayed, but it was stormy weather, so that could be the cause. The people were much friendlier, respectful, helpful. I felt safe everywhere I go. The skies were clear, could see the blue skies, no so last time I visited where there were so much smog everywhere. I don't mean China is perfect, no country is, but I like it and will be back soon to visit other parts of the country.

我上周刚从深圳回来，还去了重庆、昆明、大理、丽江和香格里拉，都很美，值得一去。坐火车和飞机时，设施很干净，火车准点又超快。飞机差点，我坐的都延误了，但当时有暴风雨，可能是这个原因。当地人很友好、有礼貌、乐于助人。我去哪儿都觉得安全。天空很晴朗，能看到蓝天，不像上次来到处是雾霾。我不是说中国完美，没有国家是完美的，但我喜欢这里，很快会再来游览其他地方。

I visited India in 2015 (to see the famous Taj Mahal) and that was it, no more , never wanna go there, why? Well, there are millions of un pleasure things: as soon as i get off the plane, i smelled a very strong thing like a dried human waste right away in open air, together with the smell of curry…and while taking tax to my hotel, just get off from the nice high ways, heading to the city centre of the capital New Deli , i heard and saw a chaotic scenes that i have never experienced before ,even in many poor third world countries. Then in the hotel, i ate “western style” buffet meal…that caused a disaster upset stomach that night and the following days, i had to take strong diarrhea pills all times staying while staying in the country, had to cover my ears with earplugs, mouth with mask all the times….thats was a very brutal experiences ever, even has seen the great Taj Mahal (very beautiful) but when i read the description of the history story about the building…it was built by a Muslim/Mongol King (the Mughal), that surprised me….later on i check the history of this great nation of India, and learned the ugly truth, India was ruled by foreigners over 500 years, much worse then a century of humiliation in old China.

2015年我去印度看泰姬陵，就那一次，再也不想去了。为什么？不愉快的事太多了：刚下飞机，就闻到露天有股浓烈的像干人粪的味，还混着咖喱味。坐出租车去酒店时，刚下高速往新德里市中心走，就看到从没见过的混乱场景，连很多贫穷的第三世界国家都不如。在酒店吃“西式”自助餐，结果当晚肚子疼得厉害，之后在印度的日子里，天天得吃强效止泻药，还得一直戴耳塞、口罩。这经历太痛苦了。虽然泰姬陵很美，但看到介绍说它是msl/蒙古国王（莫卧儿王朝）建的，我很惊讶。后来查印度历史，才知道丑陋的真相：印度被外国人统治了500多年，比旧中国的百年屈辱还惨。

I visited China in 2019, and rode the train in Shanghai from the city center to the airport-clean and very fast! Here we are in 2025, and in California we STILL don't have a high speed rail system, even though billions of dollars have been spent on it
