First four-engine large drone developed by China makes maiden flight

中国首架四引擎大型无人机首次试飞

The Twin-Tailed Scorpion D, a four-engine large drone independently developed by China, made its maiden flight on Tuesday and will make its public debut at the upcoming Airshow China 2022, the aircraft’s developer announced on Wednesday.

Capable of carrying heavier and larger payloads, the new drone has enhanced transport capability compared with its predecessors in the Twin-Tailed Scorpion series, analysts said.

The drone has a wingspan of 20 meters, a length of 10.5 meters and a height of 3.1 meters. It has a maxmum takeoff weight of 4.35 metric tons, a maxmum payload weight of 1.5 metric tons and a maxmum cargo space of 5 cubic meters, according to its developer Sichuan Tengden Sci-Tech Innovation Co.

10月25日，中国自主研发的四引擎大型无人机“双尾蝎D”首次飞行，并将在即将举行的2022年中国航展上首次公开亮相。

分析人士表示，与双尾蝎子系列的前身相比，新型无人机能够承载更重更大的有效载荷，提高了运输能力。

无人机翼展20米，长度10.5米，高度3.1米。据四川腾登科技创新有限公司称，该飞机最大起飞重量为4.35公吨，最大有效载荷重量为1.5公吨，货物空间最大为5立方米。

这也是全球首款大型四发、多用途、中空长航时固定翼无人机系统。一架代号为“双尾蝎D”的大型四发无人机自主驶入跑道并顺利升空，飞行18分钟后平稳着陆，全程无故障，标志着全球首款大型四发无人机首飞圆满完成。

Perhaps better to design vtol ,because it does not need airfield since in the war cases no airfield is ready to suit this uav ...and also it is so efficient for big company such as : oil gas company , electricity plant to deliver the important instrument parts for emergency used
