Threat ne on Bengaluru-Delhi flight triggers bomb scare; 12 flyers under lens
NEW DELHI: The captain operating an AirAsia India Bengaluru-Delhi flight with about 170 passengers on board on Saturday discovered a ne in the lavatory threatening to blow up the aircraft on landing.
The ne read, “there is a bomb on board I will blast as soon as it reaches Delhi,” and this flight I5-741 was scheduled to go to Srinagar from the capital. Luckily the Airbus A320 (VT-JRT) landed safely at IGI Airport where it was taken to a reme bay for checks and released for subsequent flights after being declared safe.
About 12 passengers were questioned and the crew reported their statement to the police, which are now probing the case. Handwriting samples of 12 passengers have been taken for matching with the writing on the ne.
Incidentally, the first person to be put on no-fly list in India was a Mumbai jeweller who had left a hoax hijack ne on a Jet Airways’ Mumbai-Delhi flight in October 2017 where he had threatened to blow up the plane if it landed in Delhi.
On Saturday, I5-741 took off from Bengaluru at 11.30 am. When it was close to Delhi, Captain Kiran Sangwan found the ne in the lav and then he informed Delhi ATC seeking priority landing at about 1.53 pm. The airport, in turn alerted CISF which quickly swung into action by forming a threat assessment panel as per protocol for such situations.
“At about 2.07 pm, the flight landed and was parked at an isolation bay. All 159 (155 adults and four infants) passengers were deplaned at isolation bay along with their handbags. The aircraft, all baggage and passengers were checked thoroughly by CISF personnel. The threat turned out to be a hoax. The aircraft was released for flights in a few hours by security agencies,” said sources.
On the basis of the handwriting test and profiling, the police zeroed in on 12 passengers and took them to IGI Police Station for further investigation, sources added. The other 143 passengers were allowed to leave.

Looks like we have enough of mad pranksters flying. These spoiled brats have no other job than to threaten and do mischievous pranks.
These are not pranksters. These are real te rorts on trial run
The real culprit has caused a lot of harassment to many co-passengers. This is unfortunate.
Let us hope and wish that investigators entrusted with task shall soon arrest the mischief passenger who caused panic by placing this ne.

These mad caps must be treated as te rort & punished as per penal code for te rorm. Many senior citizens passengers could have suffered heart attack . Simply banning air travel is not the answer to this.
这些疯子就是恐 怖分子，应当按照针对恐 怖主义的刑法予以惩罚。许多老年乘客可能会被吓得心脏病发作。仅仅禁止航空旅行并不能杜绝以后不会出现此类恶作剧。
Feku, aka Surrender Modi, should have banned all air travel. It's impossible to contain the the spread of the coronavir s when it can still travel at subsonic speeds across this country. The sad fact is that the number of new Covid-19 deaths is equal to seven 737-Max 8 jets crashing each day.
You are safe flying on the Magic Is mic carpet. Make sure you do not catch cold.
Please visit a mental hospital for checking . you badly need mental treatment
Give the credit of finding the ne to the steward/stewardess. It is fooling to say captain discovered it.
My family was on this plane.
And they made all passengers sit in the plane after it landed on Delhi airport for 2 hours.
What was there plan, if there is bomb in plane everyone should die in plane?
Police and airport security was highly untrained and we're very immature and put life of all passengers on risk.
They allowed vacatinh plane after 3 hours and made everyone sit in a bus for another 1 hour. No water no toilet and no food.
Kids were crying and everyone was exhausted , ... Read More
Idiots should be identified and punished severely..
The culprit needs psychiatric treatment with severe punishment and listed in the 'not allowed to flight' list as per the SC directive
Captain should be at the cockpit, why was he searching lavatories during the flight?
don't captains go to toilet, idiot?
