China is urging the United States and Iran to return to diplomacy and resume negotiations, calling on both sides to recommit to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said Beiing hopes Washington and Tehran will “choose peace” and return to dialogue as soon as possible. China says it will continue efforts to restore peace and stability across the Middle East and Gulf region.
