Four visits in four years. This weekend, Spain's Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez returns to Beiing for trade and beyond. From Caracas to Tehran, Spain and China are increasingly speaking the same language on international law and rules.

Pedro Sánchez is clearly the best leader currently in Western Europe. His economic policies are bearing fruit (minimum wage increase, job creation, etc.), and his international pronouncements are restoring Spain's stature, making it the only country in the region still credible on the international stage. His rapprochement with China further confirms that he understands who the best partner for future prosperity is, and the answer seems obvious.

Fact that he stood out and spoke up against the illegal war waged by the US/Israel showed he had morality, unlike a wide swath of Western political leaders and politicians who for their ulterior interests are not willing to stand up in opposition. At least he has guts. Yet, some people in society don’t value such, bad luck for a lack of morality and righteousness!

What many people overlook is that Spain and China actually share a much older history. During the Spanish Empire, we saw the first globalisation: silver from the Americas flowed through Acapulco to Manila, linking directly with Chinese markets via the Manila Galleon. In Spain we're simply logical. China help us, they are good allies. The US and Israel are selling weapons to Morocco against us! China benefits from our ports and some of our food products. We act as a bridge between China and Mexco, along with Latin America, and China help us with technology. Everyone wins, and both Spain and China know how to value their friends.
