@CosmicPanda90 Sorry! I’m not going to give the Natsi any more of my money. Also, when we looked into it, BYD was simply a better all inclusive deal than Tesla in which you had to pay extra for all the bells and whistles BYD simply gave you as a standard.

Eventually but it will go up and down the more EVs driving around the lower the oil price making them less competitive. Currently it's still cheaper in many cases to buy petrol cars, especially second hand if someone doesn't drive much meaning the cost of the vehicle a much bigger issue than the cost of fuel.

All due respect, but people who actually use their utes to full capability will not be able to replace them with a BYD Atto 1. So you either changed occupations or you never had the full need for that ute and are now downsizing. Not everyone can do this. Good on you for freeing up fuel for the people who can't though.

It's not that simple because lithium has a limited supply and is competing with battery storage. In retrospect I think Australia could have pushed EVs a bit harder at the expense of solar because now we are ram up battery storage both individual and grid. So the bigger question which I don't know the answer to is how quickly can lithium mining be ramped up and how effectively can lithium be recycled which currently requires subsidies because it's more costly than newly mined lithium.

事情没那么简单。锂资源储量有限,还要兼顾储能电池供应。澳洲早年优先发展光伏,其实本该更早发力电车。如今关键难题在于:锂矿开采提速速度、锂回收技术效率都不足,回收成本甚至高于开采,还得靠补贴维持。

I just bought a BYD Atto 1 premium and that 320km range is more than enough for our day to day use. We only charge it 1-2 times a week for about $3 each time. Happy days! 8 years unlimited warranty. 8 years battery warranty. It's well built. It is ultra reliable. It is honest. It is very efficient. The blade battery is so small that a 7.7 kw solar panel can charge it from 20% to full in under 5 hours. I am struggling to find faults in this little car. I am seriously impressed by it.

Hopefully once those 8 years are up, they'll let you upgrade the battery to whatever is best at that time. My plan is to get a BYD when I can, but I can't afford it right now.

Used to own a family diesel car driving around 35000km/year, cost me slightly over $6000 on fuels and 3 services together about $1000. After a major service, I sold the car and bought 2nd hand Atto3 from a friend. Now it is slightly over one year, 37500km cost me nearly $1300 for electricity. I own no solar at home nor charge on off-peak hour. This was before the war price to note too. Diesel in Perth now cost doubled from a month ago.

In the Netherlands there is a owner of a Tesla model 3 four wheeldrive ( dec 2019) who have driven 700.000 kilometers (!) in 6 years (to see on YouTube) The Tesla in question has still the first battery pack and the only big issue is well known with heavy EV, the replacement 2 times of the wheel bearings.
