After Russia, China has now sent warships into the Strait of Hormuz amid tensions between Iran and the United States. Vladimir Putin's advisor Nikolai Patrushev told a Russian newspaper Russia was working to build a multipolar world order on the oceans against what he called the Western hegemony. Earlier, Moscow sent its Navy Baltic Fleet 'Stoikiy' corvette to Iran's Bandar Abbas port. The Russian corvette is in Iran to hold joint naval exercises, a move seen as a show of unity against the United States.

继俄罗斯之后，中国也在美伊紧张局势升温之际派遣军舰进入霍尔木兹海峡。俄罗斯总统普京的顾问尼古拉·帕特鲁舍夫对俄媒表示，俄罗斯正致力于在海洋领域构建多极世界秩序，以对抗他所称的西方霸权。
