Fair, but the US is very very inefficient with that electricity. So China has a way to go, but the trends are in that direction. But the US is doubling down on fossil fuels, let's see what happens when fossil fuel demand falls globally. The prices drop, and when the entire US shale industry stops being profitable. Saudi fuel is produced at about $10/ barrel, while US shale is produced at about $30-50/barrel. It means that global oil price needs to drop by just 30% before the entire US fossil fuel industry becomes money losing.

Also China has more energy storage system like pump hydro and batteries that keep extra energy for later, in USA not as much extra renewable energy is stored.

Don't forget that $90 billion spent in China on electricity infrastructure cannot be compared to similar amount in USA. The equivalent amount would be likely 3 times as much if not higher

China already surpassed US GDP PPP in like 2017, passed US life expectancy in like 2021-2022(after covid and USA gov and society itself killed 1 million+ of their own people by putting stupidity err, i mean "freedom" over common sense, ie wearing masks, social distancing, quarantines for infected, mandatory testing, etc etc), controls global manufacturing including rare earths that USA needs to make everything from cars to electronics in everything including AI/computers/phones, or even missiles and other military weapons and systems, ford and GM would shut down, shelves would be empty, economy would crash etc. While china reached record high trade even with USA and 1 trillion surplus during trade war and decoupling from usa/west. Along with the fact that china is now self sufficient in basically everything and not just sufficient, but also sufficiently ADVANCED to be able to compete at world class levels or even LEAD them outright(AI like deepseek/Quwen/etc, semiconductor manufacturing, EV cars, rare earth processing and materials science technologies, space programs, space station, moon bases, EVERYTHING). China will have its own permanent moon base within another 10, no.. 20 years at most(conservative estimate, probably would be finished by 2035-2040). And before its complete, it will already be building in the next 5 years, and robots would be there years before humans go. Meanwhile USA cant even get to the moon or land on it anymore. Or even have a backup rocket to rescue any of their astronauts in space or ISS if anything goes wrong(which it did). USA took 6+ months to be able to rescue them and bring them back to earth. Meanwhile china took 6 days.

反观中国，即便在中美贸易战、西方和中国脱钩的背景下，对华贸易额仍创下历史新高，贸易顺差更是突破万亿美元。如今的中国，几乎实现了全领域自给自足，而且不只是能满足需求，技术水平还达到了世界级，在很多领域甚至处于领先地位——比如深度求索、通义千问等人工智能技术，半导体制造、电动汽车、稀土加工、材料科学，还有航天工程、空间站、月球基地等，方方面面都是如此。

保守估计，中国最迟20年内就能建成自己的永久月球基地，甚至可能在2035到2040年就完工。未来五年内，基地建设就会启动。而且在人类登陆之前，机器人会提前好几年进驻月球开展工作。

再看看美国，现在连登月都做不到了，更别说在月球着陆。国际空间站或者太空中的美国宇航员一旦出事，他们连备用救援火箭都没有——而且这种险情确实发生过。当时美国花了六个多月才把宇航员救回地球，而中国完成同样的救援任务只需要六天。

A good answer for America's adding energy infrastructure is decentralizing it. Australia put in subsidies to help install 17,000 home solar battery systems over just a few months. The US, especially under the current administration, is more of a Stick rather than Carrot system. They raise power prices to oppressive levels. Those that can afford it will buy solar. We will be taxed on our purchases, then we will be double taxed through tariffs. Those that cannot afford it... is a really good question.

I love watching programs like these and reading the comments mocking the US. As an American I don’t take offense, I’m not thin skinned. However, what I do get is that America’s lack of power is an opportunity for me to make money in solar since it’s still in its infancy here.
