It is worth remembering that when China was first attempting to build its industrial base, they were inviting experts from the West to inform them on best practices. They knew they needed to learn and wanted to learn from the best. In fact, throughout China's history it has done that. We like to criticize them for copying us, but let's remember that when Japan was eating our lunch with its very attractive vehicles, we became students of how they organized production. A smart person will learn as much as he can to improve himself. The stupid blame China for all the ills of the world may work for politicians who need an enemy, but it certainly doesn't make sense. The threat China poses is not military it is exstential. They simply do a better job of getting the job done and along the way do a much better job of taking care of their citizens. Starting a war with them will make the military industrial complex richer but will do nothing to make the world a better place. Mutual respect and cooperation is a much better approach. I hope we're sane enough to take it.
