India was one of the first countries to recognise Palestine as an independent nation, and a large number of Indians still stand by Palestine. Just because the current govt doesn't do so, doesn't mean that the whole country is at fault.

I’m Indian and Hindu. A lot of Hindus in India support Israel—mainly because Iran is a Muslim country, and also because people believe Israel helped India during the Kargil War. But not everyone thinks that way. I don’t support Israel or the U.S. in what clearly looks like genocide.

This blind support for Israel or hatred toward Muslims isn’t something new. The British planted those seeds during their rule by dividing communities, and the tension has only grown worse with the BJP in power.

My views are different from many of my friends today. That’s probably because one of my closest childhood friends was Muslim. We grew up together and shared great memories before I moved to another city for studies.
