Uttarakhand official on Kedarnath inspection beheaded by helicopter's blade

印度北阿坎德邦一名政府官员在直升机外自拍时，被叶片击中头部不幸当场身亡。

A government official in Uttarakhand was killed on Sunday while he was trying to take a selfie outside a helicopter in Kedarnath. The official, identified as Jitendra Kumar Saini, was the financial controller of Uttarakhand Civil Aviation development authority.

The mishap took place at a helipad in Kedarnath Dham.

周日，北阿坎德邦的一名政府官员在凯达尔纳特的一架直升机外自拍时，被叶片击中头部不幸当场身亡。这名官员名叫吉滕德拉·库马尔·塞尼，是北阿坎德邦民航发展局的财务总监。

事故发生在Kedarnath Dham的一个直升机停机坪。

Saini came into the range of the tail rotor blade of the helicopter while he was trying to take a selfie.

Saini, a 2017-batch state finance service officer, had gone to Kedarnath from Dehradun with other officials on Sunday morning for audit and inspection-related work, ahead of the yatra to Kedarnath, which begins on April 25.

While it seems like the deceased official was at fault, now i understand why Eurocopter opted for shrouded tail rotor.

Not always possible. In some cases the pilots won't switch off the helicopter engines if it is short stop. These engines require some time to switch on and off. So not advisable to do such operations frequently

Sad incident. If you have traveled in a chopper, the first thing pilot tells you is to always approach the chopper from the front and with your head bowed down, never from the rear.

This was a very sad incidence ! But this is all because of careless attitude we all have ! This is seen every where. Be it in road , high rising buildings , factories. I have seen people installing A.C., putting up pigeon net on high rising buildings without harnesses. Cars joining the main street without even looking at oncoming traffic.
