Awesome Nigeria love from Jamaica
Good keep it up and keep building more like to connect
as Chinese American, I have worked with many Nigerians - cool ppl, hard working, very ambitious, a lot in common culturally.
2010 to 2022 for 13km. That's very slow for China speed. What causing the slow of construction phase?
Terrorism in that vicinity. Land disputes etc etc.
@Strong Challenger terrorism is the the northern part of Nigeria so that's not even as excuse, but I think funding is the main issue
Lack of funding by the Lagos state government
This is just for demonstration I think. It hasn't really opened to the public yet. It was just commissioned as being finished, but they are still doing some trial runs to get ready for daily use.
@Martinem Drillla no. There is no terrorism in Lagos. Hopefully that won't change. I believe this is just a demonstration.
@Strong Challenger Woh, please always confirm your info before commenting. There's no terrorism in that vicinity. The delay was due to politics and slow funding.
@smanslam1 Sorry. My comment is not meant to hurt our African brothers. I thought there were terrorism in Nigeria hence I thought it could be one of the main reasons.
China must help porperly. China is globle king.

Good partnership, good business. I salute my Chinese people, relationship of mutual respect and benefit is what we want in Africa.
How is it possible for poor nations to afford brand new Mass Transportation, even New York don't have these. What is going on?
Loan from China obviously, theres a reason why Nigeria is in so much debt
Where there's a will, there's a way.
@ChocoChib borrow money to invest in infrastructure ..etc is for future development. Local people learn new skills and have new jobs too.
New York uses metro which is 5x more expensive than the light rail Lagos got and the Lagos light rail is fully funded by Lagos state not borrowed
@President News correct. The transit system in NY is quite old and extensive, although it stands in varying states of cleanliness, repair and renovation. While other US cities also have mass transportation systems, they are not nearly as developed or utilized to the same extent as those in Asia. Many major cities in China alone built extensive subway and train systems. Cities in China are also heavily connected by bullet train and passenger rail. It seems there is a difference in development philosophy, with Asian cities focusing on high density development, while North American cities gravitate toward low density suburban development, which affects how mass transit is established.
Nigeria is not poor.
I am not sure if NY sub is five times more expensive, but rather 5x more profitable (for some people).

America too has debt of 13 trillion.
