GDP on PPP is so much more accurate measure of an Economy scope than nominal GDP and BRICS clearly excel. But what is even more eye opening about BRICS size and scope is not only GDP‑PPP but how BRICS dominates the resources, energy, manufacturing and agricultural capacity. Europe is impotent on these important elements. Even the US does not have an edge on manufacturing aspect.

As for that debt trap, at least those countries got bridges, airports, etc while the West indebted clients got jackshit. De‑dollarisation will require BRICS + being able to establish currencies that are better accepted. A currency settlement account separate to SWIFT is a good start. The EU and CPTPP should partner to do the same. The latter already have five or six strong established trade currencies and, every AAA Stable Outlook currency in the World and, together account for the equivalent to USD 37 trillion to annual global GDP. The USD is still trading well against the DXY, but is vulnerable to become normalised.
