Hangzhou is famous for its picturesque West Lake and timeless legends. Today, it's also making a name for something very different: technology. Home to Alibaba and now the birthplace of six rising ‘tech dragons,’ including AI powerhouse DeepSeek, the city is fast becoming one of China's innovation hubs. CNA Senior Correspondent Tan Yew Guan travels to Hangzhou to find out what's driving its tech transformation and get a glimpse into the city's automated future. Along the way, he tried an AI health scanner and put a robo dog to the test.

I visited this city back in 2007, it was so hot/humid and the foodie scene was not to my liking at the time...just goes to show, not every place can be like SV, nice weather, lots of driven hard working people, and full of cutting edge ideas....If I have to bet, I would still lean toward Shenzhen and its surroundings given its massive industrial infrastructure for all the future robots/parts..
