China has unveiled its development blueprint for the 15th Five-Year Plan period. It features a strong focus on modernization, innovation, green technology and better living standards. In southwest China's Chongqing, a futuristic super factory offers a glimpse of what's to come where more than 3,000 robots work side by side with humans.

中国公布了“十五五”时期发展蓝图，重点聚焦现代化建设、科技创新、绿色技术与民生改善。

在中国西南地区的重庆，一座极具未来感的超级工厂，让人们得以窥见未来发展图景——在这里，逾3000台机器人与人类并肩作业。

Have you ever seen a factory where 3,000 robots work together?

This is not science fiction. It's not CGI. This is real life happening in Chongqing, Southwest China.

What does it look like when people work alongside more than 3,000 robots?

In more than smart factories, human-machine interaction is evolving. In some processes, people and machines work separately, like traditional robotic arms used in stam and welding. In others, they share the same space, such as the AGV vehicles moving materials across the workshop. And in more advanced scenarios, humans and robots work side by side, combining machine precision with human judgment.

这不是科幻大片，也不是电脑特效，而是真实发生在中国西南地区重庆的场景。

当人类与 3000 多台机器人并肩工作，会是怎样一番景象？

在众多智能工厂中，人机交互模式正在不断升级。在部分工序中，人与机器分工作业，比如冲压、焊接环节使用的传统机械臂；在另一些场景里，二者共处同一空间，例如在车间内转运物料的自动导引运输车；

而在更先进的模式下，人机并肩协作，将机器的精准度与人类的判断力相结合。

In many stations across the SAIC Super Factory, AI systems inspect vehicles in seconds, while workers verify the results.

在上汽超级工厂的多个工位，人工智能系统能在数秒内完成车辆检测，再由工作人员核验结果。

>> We have our gap and flatness exams AI station there. Uh, that four robots will examine all the gap and flatness of these vehicles on the surface. And all the results will be transferred immediately to the pads here. Right now, we have more than 50 examination stations here. After introducing this automated equipment, the precision has improved significantly, reaching 0.1 mm. Labor costs have also been reduced. Previously, manual measurement required around five workers. Now, we only need two people to recheck the points identified by the robots. Overall efficiency has improved by nearly 70 to 80%.

我们这里设有间隙和面差智能检测工位。四台机器人会全面检测车辆车身的所有间隙和面差，所有检测数据会实时传输到这边的平板上。目前我们这里设有 50 多个检测工位。引入这套自动化设备后，检测精度大幅提升，可达 0.1 毫米，人力成本也有所降低。以往人工检测需要约五名工人，现在只需两人复核机器人标注的点位即可，整体效率提升了近 70% 至 80%。

Robots alone do not make a smart factory. Data does. At the highest level of collaboration, humans and machines work in integration. AI analyzes information, predicts risks and supports decisions.

At the heart of the factory is the digital operations center, or war room, where real-time data powers efficiency, quality, and safety. The data in this factory is much more than in traditional factories. Everything we can see in this factory, such as the conveyor line, the AGVs, the air conditioning and the lights — all this data can be transferred by our 5G technology to our database within 1 second.

打造智能工厂，单靠机器人远远不够，数据才是核心。在最高级别的协作模式中，人机实现深度融合，人工智能通过分析信息预判风险、辅助决策。

这座工厂的核心是数字运营中心，也就是 “作战指挥室”，实时数据为生产效率、产品质量与生产安全提供支撑。这座工厂的数据量远超传统工厂，生产线、自动导引运输车、空调、照明等所有可见设备的数据，都能通过 5G 技术在 1 秒内传输至数据库。

All of that data fits into another key technology, the factory's digital twin. This is the digital twin system used in the factory. Everything, including data and images, can be transmitted in real time. And if we go to the final assembly line, we can witness the birth of brand new cars one after the other.

这些数据还支撑着工厂另一项核心技术 —— 数字孪生系统。工厂运用的这套数字孪生系统，可实时传输所有数据与影像。走进总装生产线，便能见证一辆辆全新汽车陆续下线。

It will be interesting to see how retail prices compare for the consumer. Will the retail price be less due to lower labour cost with robots? Or maybe more due to the cost of modernizing a factory to use robots? Are humans displaced from auto-work jobs? Or, does that not count if the jobs never exsted for humans? So many questions.
China is leading the world in robotics manufacturing, that's for sure!

Even Toyota was able to drive their average car price down by partnering with a Chinese factory. They have a Rav 4 shaped model called the bZ3X that’s sold for $15,000 and they made 80,000 units so far in the last 6 months.

- People really don't care what job exsts "tomorrow" as long we can "retire" doing what we spent time mastering.
- At the same time, we need to know if such job "will not" longer exsts so we don't push our children into them.
- That's called a "transition plan" ... which CN has it ... but US does not.

But the factory is already modern!
Humanoids have always been useless as "workers" and it's easy to explain why AGI can't change that. We see how Amazon is replacing people and it's not with humanoids. Because robots ALREADY use vision and AI and they don’t look like humans because humans are limited. (they have to climb ladders, hands too big for small things etc.) Automation has been replacing people for decades and it hasn't stopped! So if a humanoid could do it, it’s already automated! (1) Just look at history. (2) So NO, they WON'T become useful as technology and AI improves.
In other words. Humanoids will never be able to do most jobs because most jobs are doing things that robots(software automation and hardware automation) cannot do and humanoids ARE robots. It's that simple but sometimes it's hard to see the forest from the trees.
Many seem to think factory jobs are easier than other jobs, they are not. I'm a factory automation engineer, I've been there. Can it even use a screwdriver?

人形机器人当工人一直都不实用，很容易解释为什么通用人工智能也改变不了这点。亚马逊用设备替代人工，用的也不是人形机器人。因为普通机器人已经有视觉和AI，没必要做人形，人体本身就有很多局限。（比如要爬梯子、手太大干不了细活等）。自动化取代人工已经几十年了，从没停过！所以如果人形机器人能干的活，早就已经自动化了！一看历史就知道。二所以就算技术和AI进步，人形机器人也不会变得实用。

简单说，大多数工作人形机器人都干不了，因为这些活是普通机器人（软硬件自动化）干不了的，而人形机器人本质也是机器人。道理很简单，只是有时当局者迷。
很多人觉得工厂工作很简单，其实并不是。我是工厂自动化工程师，干过这行。人形机器人连螺丝刀都未必会用。
