Scientists who once worked in the United States are now packing up their labs and moving to China. At least 85 researchers have left American institutions since early last year to join universities and labs in China full-time.

曾在美国工作的科研人员如今正收拾实验室，迁往中国。自去年年初以来，至少有 85 名研究人员离开美国科研机构，全职加入中国的高校与实验室。

The scientists and engineers who left the U.S. to return to their homeland are all Chinese born and previously educated in the most prestigious Chinese universities before going to the U.S. Currently, given the lack of funding in the US, and the shortage of research positions, these Chinese scientist/engineers are recruited by Chinese universities with a higher salary and benefits (housing, subsidies, free education for their children, healthcare etc…), further, they are respected by their fellow citizens in China, whereas in America, white Americans are still imbued with prejudice and racism towards nonWhites! Since 2018, many Chinese academics/researchers in the U.S. have been unjustly harassed by the FBI and Homeland Security agents under the pretext of national security reasons. The teams of engineers working in Open AI, Gemini, Grok, Llama etc… are composed mostly of Chinese engineers who had a previous training in prestigious Chinese universities (Tsinghua university, Beida, Hangzhou Institute of Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology etc…).

离开美国回到祖国的科研人员和工程师，都是土生土长的中国人。他们去美国之前，都曾在国内最顶尖的大学读过书。现在，美国科研资金不够、研究岗位也少，而中国的高校正用更高的薪资和更好的福利（住房、补贴、孩子免费上学、医疗保障等）招募这些中国科研人员和工程师。而且，他们在国内会受到同胞的尊重，但在美国，白人对非白人依然充满偏见和种族歧视！

从2018年开始，很多在美国的中国学者、研究人员，还被联邦调查局（FBI）和国土安全部工作人员以“国家安全”为借口无端骚扰。像Open AI、Gemini、Grok、Llama这些公司的工程师团队，大部分成员都是中国人——他们之前都在国内顶尖大学（清华大学、北京大学、杭州电子科技大学、哈尔滨工业大学等）接受过教育。

Even if China did not openly court scientists from the US the Chinese scientists in the US would all be thinking about a return given the witchhunt on the two scientists who were charged with smuggling a fungus which the US claim could be used for agriterrorism. Indians can go and try but it will be fair merit based competition. As there is no pathway for citizenship as well as competing fairly I doubt there will be any mass flooding of Indians to China.
