China has revealed it rejected a U.S. proposal for defence talks just ahead of the high-profile SCO Summit in Tianin. Beiing cited a lack of mutual trust and questioned Washington’s intentions. Spokesperson Lin Jian addressed the issue in Beiing, also criticizing U.S. sanctions and long-arm jurisdiction. This comes as chinese President met with Vladimir Putin and Narendra Modi at SCO Summit, further sidelining the U.S. in the evolving global order.

有消息称，在天津举行的备受关注的上海合作组织（SCO）峰会召开前夕，中国已明确拒绝美国提出的防务对话提议。中国方面表示，拒绝的原因是双方缺乏互信，并对美国的意图提出质疑。中国外交部发言人林剑在北京就此事作出回应时，还批评了美国实施的制裁及 “长臂管辖” 做法。与此同时，中国在上合组织峰会上同俄罗斯总统普京、印度总理莫迪举行会晤，在不断演变的全球秩序中，美国的边缘化趋势进一步加剧。
