The launch of the Laos-China Railway in 2021 has sparked new interest in rail travel among ASEAN member countries. It has also helped to boost tourism significantly in Southeast Asia. From Thailand to Laos and across the border to China, CNA's Melissa Goh travels more than 1,000 kilometres by rail

I visit SE Asia to slow down and experience “slow life.” I don’t want to go fast in Thai/Laos/Myanmar. The old stations with the Station Master saluting the arriving train is so great! It’s old culture that I treasure.

With the BRI , Laos' currency KIP has fallen close to 300% thats what they don't tell . Armed gangs and banditry is everyday life with the growing of poppy . It is not safe for travel if anyone considering .

Stop spreading fake news. Lao's currency KIP values are related to the US interest rate flucutation. Lao's currency KIP has nothing to do with BRI.

CNA always excludes other countries when referring to ASEAN. I think it is best to use mainland ASEAN nations. We are part of ASEAN but not part of the mainland, so we are not benefiting from this railway.
