The May Day holiday, China's five-day 'Golden Week' holiday, starts from Saturday. During this year’s holiday, the number of tourists is expected to exceed the level of the same period in 2019, reaching 200 million, a record high in five years, and traveling by train has become the first choice for many tourists.

Zibo, famous for its iconic barbecues, has become China's latest tourist hotspot to rein in hotel price hikes and implement tourist-friendly policies to cater to the holiday fervor. The low-profile industrial city in east China's Shandong Province has unexpectedly become one of the most popular tourist attractions in China, with the tourism sector recovering at full tilt in the post-epidemic era. How long does it take to have a barbecue from inan to Zibo?

Many diners on the platform are going to Zibo to taste the barbecues. This sunken food square gathers many barbecue restaurants and is the most popular internet-famous site in Zibo. Within 4 hours of opening, the meat in this barbecue shop has been sold out. However, there was still a long queue of guests waiting. At the begng of March this year, the topic "College students organized a group to Zibo to eat barbecue" became a trending topic over the social media platform. Immediately afterwards, various influencers went to the restaurants in Zibo that have been trending online.

The barbecue restaurant owner Mr. Yang has been running the barbecue restaurant for 28 years, and has long been a household name in the local area. But this time, he was still worried. It's not just because the barbecue restaurants that are too popular. Small pancakes, as the "best companion" of Zibo barbecue, are also in short supply. Customers who couldn't receive the goods for a long time simply came to the door directly.

In order to increase production capacity, the workshop for the production of small pancakes was expanded three times within a month. The popularity of Zibo barbecue is a vivid epitome of the continuous recovery of the tourist consumption market. Behind the flow, the local market and operators are also thinking deeply about how to turn this into a long-term business.

According to the data, during the May Day holiday this year, train tickets to Zibo from many places were sold out many days in advance, and the local accommodation bookings increased by 800% compared with 2019, making Zibo one of the top ten cities with the highest occupancy rate during the May Day holiday period. In order to regulate tourism and catering services, Zibo City has introduced a series of measures since mid-April, including controlling the rate of hotel price increases, launching a WeChat mini-program, and allowing tourists to report relevant issues and demands with one click. Just this Wednesday, the local Bureau of Culture and Tourism also issued a "Letter to Tourists and Friends", frankly admitting that during the May Day holiday period, Zibo's passenger flow has exceeded the reception capacity, calling on tourists to travel at off-peak times.

"outdoor" barbecue? I understand if it were to be inside you would need to specify it, but barbecue are usually outdoor. It's kinda like saying 'outdoor' soccer, or indoor bathroom.
