China's first cross-sea suburban railway draws crowds during free trial rides

中国首条跨海市域铁路免费试乘，吸引大批市民体验

Ningbo, a city in eastern China's Zhejiang Province about 150 kilometers south of Shanghai, opened Metro Line 12 on Monday—a 61.5-kilometer route linking downtown Ningbo with the coastal county of iangshan, bringing China's fastest urban rail technology to one of the country's newest seaside destinations.

Line 12 features a total of 10 stations, including 2 underground stops and 8 elevated stations, with a one-way trip taking just 35 minutes.

宁波，位于中国东部浙江省，在上海以南约150公里。这座城市于周一开通地铁12号线。线路全长61.5公里，连接宁波市区与沿海的象山县，把中国速度顶尖的城市轨道交通技术带到了这处新兴滨海旅游地。

宁波地铁12号线一共设有10座车站，含2座地下站、8座高架站，单程运行仅需35分钟。

9月14日，宁波轨道交通12号线免费试乘活动开始。作为连接市区与象山的重要交通大动脉，这条被称为“能看海的地铁”的中国首条跨海市域（郊）铁路，试乘首日便迎来大量市民的体验

宁波12号线全长61.5公里，北起鄞州区小洋江站，向南跨过象山港，止于大目湾站，设站10座，主城至象山最快约30分钟。全线控制性工程象山港跨海大桥长8.3公里，与甬莞高速桥并行，桥墩对齐，形成“双桥卧波”的独特景致，“海上列车”由此得名。

Even the oldest metros in Beiing are constantly being revised and modernized.
There's no excuses for other countries to not keep improving their public transport.
This just shows which country and their government really cares about the betterment of their own citizens.

Thats because it was built from 130 years ago tbf and was impossible to design it for current populations and technology. It probably looked pretty nice and clean back when it was built. China didn't start building subways until like 50 years later and obviously these ones built in china today 130 years later are going to look amazing in comparison. A new line built in New York and the rest of USA will look just as good but it's just a shame they rarely get built there.

​​ @rmz1221 I have bookmarked many leaked videos of Chinese infrastructure, about 70% of highrise in Chongqing are broken & empty from inside but Chinese  show that image with lights on to the world that they are living in future.

i too dont believe media posts but what i trust is indian travel vloggers or international travel vloggers , those cannot be faked and i have seen mike okay videos i can tell china is way ahead of most countries they are on par with japan or korea.

The US-based international architecture and design firm RIOS (headquartered in Los Angeles) won the international competition to design the Ningbo iangshan People's Square. This is a massive ecological Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) that directly integrates with the line's metro and bus station. Their design includes the commercial lobby connected to the station, a 3,000-seat arena, cultural exhibition halls, and a flood-resilient "se city" landscape.
