Doston, India ke paas ab duniya ka third-largest metro network hai. Lekin shocking baat ye hai — jitni fast metro grow ho rahi hai, utni hi fast ye metro financially fail ho rahi hai. Just look at this: Delhi Metro, India ka sabse bada aur sabse purana metro network hai, jo kareeb 23 saal se chal raha hai, lekin phir bhi 2024 mein Delhi Metro ne ₹5,104 crore ka loss uthaya hai. Ussi tarah Bangalore Metro ne 2024 mein ₹350 crore aur Hyderabad Metro ne ₹555 crore ka loss uthaya. Itna hi nahi, Jaipur Metro ne sirf 2022 mein ₹14,733 crore ka loss uthaya.

On the other hand, zara dusre countries ko dekho. Tokyo Metro ne pichle saal lagbhag ₹3,000 crore ka profit kamaya, Hong Kong ne lagbhag ₹18,000 crore kamaya, aur Singapore ne lagbhag ₹50 crore kamaya. Yahi nahi, agar aap total passengers dekho, toh 2024 mein roz lagbhag 66 lakh log Seoul Metro mein baithe, London Underground mein roz 40 lakh, aur Tokyo Metro mein roz 68 lakh log baithe. Aur humare yahan? Delhi Metro mein roz lagbhag 65 lakh baithe, Bangalore mein 10 lakh, Mumbai Metro mein sirf 8.5 lakh, Jaipur mein sirf 50,000 aur Bhopal mein 1,290 log baithe. Aur hairani ki baat ye hai ki sarkar ke projection ke mutabik, Delhi Metro sirf 47% occupancy par hai, Jaipur ka 23%, Hyderabad 40%, aur Mumbai ka 34%.

Ab bhale hi kuch lines abhi complete nahi hui hain, lekin jo lines complete ho chuki hain, unmein bhi kisi sheher ne apna projection achieve nahi kiya hai, jiski wajah se har saal Bharat ke saare metro networks milkar ₹1,000 crore se bhi zyada ka loss karte hain. Lekin agar aap Indian metros ko dekho, toh unmein koi problem nazar nahi aata — they are clean, tickets maxmum ₹80 tak hote hain, aur metros time par bhi chalti hain. Toh sawaal ye hai: jab itna badhiya infrastructure humne bana liya hai, toh hum log isse istemal kyu nahi kar rahe? Jab baaki deshon mein metros hazaaron crore kamati hain, humare metros itne bhaari loss mein kyu hain? Aur Japan aur South Korea se Bharat ko kya seekhna chahiye?

朋友们,印度目前拥有全球第三大地铁网络,但令人震惊的是,地铁网络扩张的速度有多快,其财务亏损的速度就有多快。数据显示,运营近23年、规模最大且历史最久的德里地铁,2024年仍亏损510.4亿卢比;班加罗尔地铁同年亏损35亿卢比,海得拉巴地铁亏损55.5亿卢比,斋浦尔地铁仅2022年一年就亏损1473.3亿卢比。

反观其他国家,东京地铁去年盈利近300亿卢比,中国香港地铁盈利近1800亿卢比,新加坡地铁盈利近5亿卢比。从客流量来看,2024年首尔地铁日均客流约660万人次,伦敦地铁400万人次,东京地铁680万人次;而印度德里地铁日均约650万人次,班加罗尔100万人次,孟买地铁仅85万人次,斋浦尔5万人次,博帕尔更是仅有1290人次。更令人意外的是,按照政府预期,德里地铁载客率仅47%,斋浦尔23%,海得拉巴40%,孟买34%。

即便部分线路尚未完工,所有已开通线路的城市均未达到预期客流,导致印度全国地铁每年总亏损超100亿卢比。可印度地铁本身并无明显短板,环境干净整洁,最高票价仅80卢比,列车运行也十分准点。那么问题来了,既然我们打造了如此优质的基础设施,民众为何不愿搭乘?为何其他国家的地铁能盈利数千亿卢比,而印度地铁却亏损严重?印度又该从日本和韩国身上借鉴哪些经验?

我去过加拿大多伦多。我是孟买人,一下就看出问题了。花3.3加元,约200卢比,就能在大多伦多地区随便坐两小时车。交通能连通各个区域,我根本不用打车。走路不到5分钟就有公交,每20分钟一班。公交、地铁、有轨电车全都有,太方便了。我刚送妻子去机场,坐公交去的,现在又坐公交回家,路程很远也没问题。

Here are some general facts 1. Metros become successful when people ditch their private cars. Bangalore Metro does not have parking spots for most of its stations. 2. Bangalore has exclusively being used to prop up real estate rates, rather focussing on routes that will generate most revenue. For Ex : Mysore Road - Kengeri route. Noone wanted to buy flats there, before metro. 3. Similar issues are with metro in Lucknow. I dont have exposure for mumbai metro.

说几个事实:1. 地铁要成功,得让人们放弃私家车。班加罗尔大部分地铁站都没有停车场。2. 当地修地铁纯粹是为了炒房价,不是优先修能赚钱的线路。比如迈索尔路到肯格里线,修地铁前根本没人在那买房。3. 勒克瑙地铁也有同样问题。孟买地铁我不太了解。

Road se aap direct rent nahi kamate, lekin log us par travel karke kaam, business aur income generate karte hain — jo ultimately economy ko grow karta hai. Metro bhi wahi kaam karti hai, bas zyada efficient tareeke se.

I'm a student in kolkata, I use metro a lot, it doesn't only provide me transport facility, It provides me comfort and safety too. Even though I'm a man, I don't feel safe in buses. If metro option wouldn't exst I would go out anyway, but we can't say for same for girls
