Lucknow has a solar presence that announces itself at every scale. Govt offices have panels on their rooftops. School buildings and hospitals sport panels. So do banks and petrol pumps. Cross a flyover or ride the above-ground metro, and panels are visible on rooftop after rooftop below.

Inside Lucknow’s metro stations, billboards ask in Hindi: “Aap kab laga rahe hain solar (When will you install solar)?” It is a question that over one lakh families in the city have already answered. From a paan vendor near the barage flyover who bought a panel two days ago for Rs 3,000, to a jhuggi in Indira Nagar fitted with rooftop solar, the city has quietly overtaken Surat to become the district with the highest solar installations in India.

The only party that benefits from solar is the government not the people. Nobody does any long term calculation after making such a huge investment. They don't factor in low power production days, equipment breakdown, replacement & repairs, maintenance costs, fixed charges etc. They just keep imagining the benefits.

UP government is very agressive on SOLAR and EV.
Their subsidy scheme for SOLAR is much better compared to many other states in India.
Even the EV policy is very progressive in term of relaxation on road tax which is on par with Delhi policy.
Thats how visionary leadership delivers.

We need this is all cities, side walks and bike paths. Electric cars and bikes are the way to go, no more crude imports. Let's make a pact to only important electronics while actively trying to move up the value chain. We can do this!

DCR panels are absolutely essential. The ALMM list has helped india move up the solar value chain. It may cause slowdown in the solar growth for a few quarters but it will be beneficial in the long run.
And more critical would be the ALMM list of June 2028 that asks for the use of indian made polysilicon Ingots and wafers as well.
