U.S. secretary of state Marco Rubio on Sunday was caught off guard when questioned about recent racist comments hurled against India from the United States. During a press meet with Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar in New Delhi, Rubio said that "stupid people exst in every country". Earlier, Rubio held talks with Jaishankar in an effort to steady ties that have fallen to their lowest point over the two decades. His visit comes during an economic and diplomatic downturn between the United States and India, strained largely by U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff policies that raised duties on several Indian exports.

The reporter should have asked Marco Rubio what Peter Navarro said regarding India. They should have asked what the U.S. official meant when he visited India and stated that they would not allow the country to develop in the manner of China. They should have inquired about the statement made by a cabinet minister under Donald Trump, who claimed that India would eventually bow down and apologize(India will say Sorry). Furthermore, considering the disparaging remarks Donald Trump frequently makes about India—labeling it a "hellhole" or a "dead economy"—one must ask: are all the people running the U.S. government simply stupid?
