A Chinese naval hospital ship has arrived in Brazil as part of a tour of Latin America and the Caribbean. Boasting state-of-the-art technology combined with traditional Chinese medicine, the arrival in Rio de Janeiro is the latest in the ongoing diplomatic engagement between China and its largest south American trading partner. Brazilian here, this is not a hospital ship, but a warship. We have free healthcare in Brazil and several reference hospitals; we don't need the Chinese for that. This ship is causing several diplomatic problems here, since they refuse to talk about the nature of the visit and the reason for having so many military personnel on board. To provide medical care, they would need authorization from a Brazilian health authority, but they refuse to cooperate with Brazilian authorities.

我是巴西人，这根本不是什么医院船，就是艘军舰。巴西有免费医疗，还有好几家顶级医院，根本用不着中国人来帮忙。这艘船已经在巴西引发了不少外交问题，他们拒绝说明此次访问的性质，也不解释船上为什么有这么多军人。要在巴西开展医疗救助，必须得到巴西卫生部门的批准，但他们就是拒绝和巴西官方合作。
