People do not litter simply because they like to litter, most of the filth we see around is due to municipal ignorance, something that can be easily fixed with more sanitation staff and tools to help expedite their job, not everything has to be manual

During visit to India, I rode from Pune to Belgaum on Vande Bharat train in executive class. One of the best experience I had in travel. Phenomenal and very comfortable seats, very clean toilets and their timings to reach destinations on spot. Kudos to Railway minister who brought such a transformation to Indian Railways.

I live in New York area and commute to New York city by train. However after my Vande Bharat train journey experience between New Delhi and Chandigarh I realized the US railroad is way behind in quality of tracks and cabin comfort. I think Indian Railway engineers have done an awesome job to propel Indian trains to world class category. Kudos

It's true but the tracks are already very dense. Now they are focused on moving freight trains to parallel line and to add third and fourth line with present double line routes.

Vande Bharat trains are engineered for a design speed of 180 km/h, yet operational constraints limit them to 110–130 km/h on more than 95% of their running corridors, with only approxmately 160 km of India’s 68,000-km broad-gauge network currently certified for 160 km/h, representing 0.2% of total track. Consequently, their observed average speeds range between 76 and 85 km/h, resulting in modest travel-time improvements: out of all operational Vande Bharat routes, fewer than 10 demonstrate time reductions exceeding 120 minutes, while the majority provide improvements in the range of 30–90 minutes when benchmarked against the fastest non-Vande Bharat services on the same corridors. Parallel to this, the national rollout of the Kavach automatic train protection system remains limited to approxmately 1,500 km, equivalent to roughly 2.2% of the network, leaving over 66,000 km without modern ATP coverage. The combination of restricted high-speed-ready infrastructure and minimal Kavach penetration results in a substantial gap between the theoretical capabilities of the Vande Bharat platform and its practical, system-wide performance.

“致敬印度号”的设计时速是180公里,但受运营条件限制,它在95%以上的线路区间只能跑110-130公里。印度的宽轨铁路网总长6.8万公里,目前只有约160公里的路段获准跑160公里时速,仅占总里程的0.2%。

与此同时,“卡瓦奇”列车自动防护系统在全国的铺设里程仅约1500公里,占路网总长的2.2%,还有6.6万公里的线路没有配备这套现代化防护系统。

高速基础设施不足,再加上“卡瓦奇”系统覆盖率极低,导致“范德·巴拉特”号的理论性能和全路网的实际运营表现之间,存在巨大差距。

The tracks are old and were built for slower trains, they can't be changed in a year as you think since vande bharat trains itself are in a very small portion compared to other trains. They need capital to fully decongest the tracks, add new tracks plus bring new trains all at a time and as you know we don't have that type of capital. So it is happening at a slower pace compared to Europe. Vande Bharat type of trains have started in Europe 50 years ago. We got it now!! Why? Well, ask what the previous governments were doing for 50 years. Crying in comments is easy.

Vande Bharat isn't for the common. Local trains are still as crowded and late. I am worried about my exam on Tuesday, they cancelled the first train because of fog and the next one is getting delayed for an hour, daily.

“致敬印度”号根本不是给普通人坐的。普通通勤列车还是那么挤、那么不准点。我特别担心周二的考试,头班车因为大雾取消了,下一班每天都要晚点一小时。

Obviously, starting something new is the easy part, the real challenge is in the maintenance. People should also take part in maintaining these new developments, it can be as small as using dustbins, avoiding littering inside trains/platforms, occupying reserved coaches without tickets etc, these are some common things which we are still struggling to adopt. Without this none of these new initiatives would last in the long run. I hope railways gives priority in maintaining these new initiatives as-well.

很明显,开创新项目容易,真正的挑战是后期维护。大家也应该参与到维护工作中,小事比如不乱扔垃圾、不占用预留车厢、自觉用垃圾桶,这些简单的事我们到现在都没做好。做不到这些的话,所有新举措都没法长久。希望铁路部门也能把维护这些新成果放在优先位置。

Indian railway should find or innovate something where the general passengers can't ride without tickets. Out country is massively tech illiterate, and those people who travel often don't care about tickets just bcuz they are travelling short distance. I don't know what will or would be a solution to his impossible like problem, but as the future is progressing, so are people getting aware and new generation is taking over. Those airport like railways will be at major major stations not even every state capital and that even till 2030. Not even 1% of indian railway junctions or stations till 2030.
