no, not just going there to show that it can be done but rather to get any materials outside of the earth, can get them by the cheapest but dirty and nasty functions like blast of light, noise, toxc byproducts and vibration etc, does not matter if the ore is far away because the refined metals can be send back by just shoving it towards the earth and it will rain down on the desert floor. no extra energy required, once a mining operation is setup, it can be automated for years.

This makes sense as China has some incredible engineering projects planned. One is a constellation of kilometer long solar arrays in GEO, beaming power back to Earth. Not to mention a thriving and expanding lunar base on the Lunar South Pole at Shackleton Crater. This base will be built using the lunar regolith and 3d printing. This base will eventually have Thorium SMRs for power and even a magnetic launch system for sending Lunar resources like Helium 3 back to Earth. Burevestnik won't be much use in space, though I'd expect what they figured out making it will be very useful overall. It is after all cruise tech and depends on air, not carrying propellant. And, I'm not sure you'd need a whole lot of them. Even after one or two were deployed we'd be into nuke escalation, short lived albeit.
