An experimental reactor developed in the Gobi Desert by the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics has achieved thorium-to-uranium fuel conversion, paving the way for an almost endless supply of nuclear energy.

中国科学院上海应用物理研究所在戈壁沙漠研发的一座实验性反应堆,已实现钍到铀的燃料转化,为获取近乎无限的核能供应铺平了道路。

@donkeykong516 You got wrong, India achieved a way back with experiment reactor and now full pledge is functional in kalpakam, just it doesn't advertise like china.

Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics (SINAP) demonstrates the technical feasibility of the thorium fuel cycle, enabling the continuous breeding of uranium-233 from thorium-232 inside a reactor core.
The experimental thorium molten salt reactor (TMSR), achieved first criticality on October 11, 2023.
The process involves thorium-232 absorbing neutrons to become thorium-233, which decays into protactinium-233 and then into uranium-233, a fissile isotope capable of sustaining a nuclear chain reaction.

Oh, yeah, it's definitely gonna work.It's all good.That was, we actually had a thorium plant sodium plant molten plant in the not too far past.That was working.We were using already, and that was the only one ever that was the first one.That's where china actually got their research and basis for this technology and they most definitely improved it.I bet and got it to work, but it's the same technology and that's where they got their research and ideas.And technology from is the theorium nuclear plant that was here in the us.Already working?The very first one actually.

Sounds like they need investors because there's a underlining problem they aren't able to solve due to a lack of funds. This is just publicity. they using social media to try and lure in investors. Programs like this can take one or two lifetimes to complete.

nothing new, uranium 233 formation is part of Thorium molten salt reactor normal reactions, we know that for many years. U233 is not U235, it is not weapon grade.

However the government decided to follow woke western narratives blindly and started to chase hydrogen wind and solar energy. Indian nuclear programme is deliberately being sabotaged to further goals and objectives in renewables. BJP ministers openly boast on platforms on how proud they are about their achievements in hydrogen, which is an utterly useless source of energy for India. The second stage, PFBR kept missing so many deadlines and is now behind by a few decades. Indian nuclear programme and its jet engine and airforce jet development must be handed over Indian private sector. The government sector is merely an employment generation scheme and they have no interest in develo and achieving any strategic objectives for India.

印度长期以来都有钍资源优势,本可以实现能源独立的目标。但政府却盲目跟风西方的“觉醒”叙事,开始追捧氢能、风能和太阳能。为了推进可再生能源的目标,印度的核计划被故意破坏了。人民党(BJP)的部长们还在公开场合吹嘘氢能领域的成就,可氢能对印度来说完全是无用的能源。第二阶段的快中子增殖反应堆(PFBR)多次错过最后期限,现在已经落后了几十年。印度的核计划、喷气发动机和战斗机研发,必须交给私营部门来做。政府部门只不过是个创造就业的机构,根本没兴趣为印度实现任何战略目标。
