Russian Defence Ministry has published images showing launch of a missile from newest Russian diesel submarine. The Russian submarine has successfully launched a Kalibr cruise missile from the Sea of Japan at a target more than 1,000 kilometres (621 miles) away, located at a Russian training ground onshore.

These two nuclear submarines should have been inducted in 2019 but due to technical problems the two submarines were only made operational this week - although both submarines still need to undergo several more months of modifications.  The USA has 71 nuclear submarines, NATO allies France and the UK 21, and Co unist Russia has 33.
