I believe India should be able to make more advanced jets indigenously rather than looking to France, Russia us etc furthermore Raphael is owned by many countries even by Qatar. So it's not the greatest compliment. Rather our drdo should focus on jets like tejas etc but we r still miles behind stealth technology and other key technologies. But we are not weak either, we do have the capability.

the future is Indian made.Last 10 years, IAF has ordered 123 Tejas and only 36 Rafales. Next 10 years too im sure IAF will order 120+ Tejas mk2 and just 36 more Rafales.

4th gen - Mirage2000,Mig29,Jaguars. Total around 240 fighters

3rd gen(only outdated lot) - Mig21 . Around some 80 fighters.

Future - Around 100 more Tejas and 7 more Rafales waiting to be delivered.

the J-16 has added great EW capabilities. But its still an inferior platform directly based of the 1980s Su-27.

Its like upgrading a 1970s Jaguar with AESA radars and EW suites.

Question is...can J-16 match a Su-30MKI? Su-30MKI is not only a superior platform, but also has top grade EW capabilities as well.
