外文标题：Isro to launch 9 nano/micro American satellites
BENGALURU: Indian Space Research Organization (Isro) will be launching nine nano/ micro satellites for United States during 2015-16 time frame.
"As on date, Antrix Corporation Ltd, the commercial arm of Isro, has signed agreement to launch about nine nano/micro (US) satellites during 2015-2016 timeframe," Isro director public relations Deviprasad Karnik said.
These satellites will go as piggyback on PSLV's (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle), officials said.
So far, 45 satellites belonging to international customers from 19 countries have been launched successfully by Isro's satellite launch vehicles.
A very proud moment for India and ISRO that now even US considers India and ISRO to be good enough to launch their satellites.. This will only enhance the stature of ISRO in the global satellite launch market and more and more countries will feel confident to use ISRO facilities to launch their vehicles.. This will will more revenue for ISRO and less dependence on Govt funding....
why would NASA use India's facility while they have their own ? The point is that whether ISRO is benefiting from the contract in anyway - both financially and fame

Sure, ISRO is getting benefited from the launches, but at the same time we don't need to drop the jaws just because US is using our facilities. I am not underestimating ISRO's potential.
Still they could prefer other countries like China which can compete in price, why choose ISRO?

Well, we don't know as all the information is not disclosed. Maybe, China is not offering lower price? Maybe, because of US-China relations? Maybe, because of US research conflict with China? Maybe, China does not have any launches in the near future? And India is launching the satellites as piggyback ride. Then there have to be some other bigger satellites to go with these nano/micro satellites.
