外文标题：Use of English should be discouraged: UP governor
UP governor Ram Naik strongly advocated use of Hindi in education and said the practice of people in Hindi heartland speaking in English should be discouraged.
Speaking at the ninth convocation of Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU) at Phaphamau here on Saturday, the governor and chancellor of UPRTOU said, " am a Marathi but I speak in Marathi-mixed Hindi as the language unites the country into one. I have seen people of the Hindi heartland speaking in English language in this northern belt which should be discouraged."
The governor also expressed concerned over the deteriorating standard of education in the country. "There was a time when students from other countries used to come to Takshila and Nalanda universities in India to get quality education, but now the scenario has deteriorated to such an extent that none of the universities of the country is considered to be in top 200 educational institutes of the world."
English is only advantage we have over China which has developed excellent education system on part with best in USA and Euripe and this guv is bent on taking away even that. Does he really believes making India country of sweepers.
I am really losing patience with BJP govt now. hurry up!
There should be a law that people above 40 can't become ministers governors etc

I am reading the comments here and noted people making fun of this old bloke and disrespecting their own language giving English important as a first language. France, Japan, South Korea, Germany and other non English speaking countries are well developed compared to India without having English as first priority. Off course English is important since it is a global language but why give so importance? You fools. Problem with India is lots of languages and different culture.
