Noida-based Addverb Technologies has been working in the area of warehouse automation and robotics, bringing Indian-made robots to the world market. ThePrint gives a sneak peek into what happens in the headquarters of Addverb Technologies

Last week, India hosted the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, where global delegates discussed AI’s role and impact.

From The Print, reporters Somia Pelle and Suraj Bisht visited the headquarters of Addverb Technologies, an Indian firm specializing in warehouse automation and robotics, and interviewed its co‑founder and CEO, Sangeet Kumar.

Founded in 2016 by four ex‑Asian Paints employees, Addverb has grown rapidly: it expects revenue of nearly 800 crore this year, with 60% from overseas markets and 40% from India. It serves a wide range of industries including e‑commerce, FMCG, automotive, pharmaceuticals, new energy, and electronics.

The company has developed 22 robot families, including sortation robots, heavy‑load autonomous robots (up to 2.5 tons), collaborative robots, four‑legged surveillance/defense robots, and a newly launched humanoid robot shown at the AI summit.

Addverb designs products for global markets with region‑certified versions for Europe, the US, the Middle East, Japan, and Australia. It now exports to 25 countries via four international subsidiaries and aims to reach over 100 countries in the next 5–6 years.

Kumar stated that strong demand for robotics comes from labor shortages in developed markets and industrial needs in India. Addverb competes globally — including with Chinese robotics firms — thanks to reliable hardware, superior software, and high trust in Indian products. The company relies on high‑quality components from Germany and Japan.

阿德维布面向全球市场设计产品，为欧洲、美国、中东、日本和澳大利亚推出了符合当地认证的版本。目前通过四家国际子公司向25个国家出口产品，目标是在未来5至6年内将业务拓展至100多个国家。

库马尔表示，发达国家劳动力短缺以及印度本土的工业需求，推动了机器人技术的旺盛需求。阿德维布能够在全球市场竞争，包括与中国机器人企业同台竞技，依靠的是可靠的硬件、更优质的软件，以及市场对印度产品的高度信任。公司所使用的高品质零部件来自德国和日本。

Its humanoid robot (6 ft tall, 20 kg payload) comes in wheeled and legged versions, with 43 degrees of freedom, supported by advanced physical AI. Addverb also supports DRDO’s humanoid project.

Future plans include further develo humanoids, smaller VA robots, and building a data factory to train general‑purpose robots through real‑world data, a long‑term 10‑year technology initiative.

Despite doubts about India’s innovation at the AI summit, companies like Addverb demonstrate India’s strong, competitive robotics and AI industry on the world stage.

其人形机器人高6英尺，载重20公斤，分为轮式和足式两款，拥有43个自由度，并搭载先进的实体人工智能系统。阿德维布还为印度国防研究与发展组织的人形机器人项目提供支持。

You can tell the huge difference between that humanoid robot and that robo dog. The robo dog is so swift and alive. That is because it is Chinese made. The number of actuators, chips and software are so well aligned that it runs very fast and lively. On the other hand, that humanoid robot is extremely slow and bulky. This indicate they are using different technologies. If they could build robo dogs so advanced like what they have shown, there is no way their humanoid robots are so clunky.

key components might be sourced from different sources. motors and sensors likely from china, chips and circuit from twn, korea and others. programming, outer shell nuts and bolts almost definitely indian. its an achievement designing and integrating parts from different sources. bigger achievement is having clients, which means this company's support capabilities is already trusted.
