During NGAD selection process Lockheed Martin's proposal has been rumored to have been a kind of "aerial cruiser" concept. It would have been an expensive, multi-crewed, low production, control platform for CCA drones. Part of the arithmetic for choosing Boeing and F-47 seems to be that it was cheaper, higher production, less speculative i.e. traditional fighter logic, kept Boeing employed, and made use of single pilot + AI to act as quarterback. Just looking at the J-36 and the J-50 it superficially looks to me like China has opted to test and potentially produce both 6th gen concepts, the Aerial Cruiser and the Fighter.

For sure it's long range 3000+ km because who uses miles and for sure it will not just hold air to air or intercepting role I think it's for the pacefic so more likely it will be a strike figher aside from PL15 and PL17 we are talking about long BVR missiles from 300km to 400km it will also carries anti radiation, ALCM cruise missiles and ALBM weapons to hit ships for 800km with the plane being big it's AESA radar will be bigger ans give more coverage and 3 engine will power supply the hungry radar or it can can use AWACS, the 2 seats means that a second operator will have Ucav and drones control either loitering drones, recon or fighting drones and wingman like Gj21 I think this is a new type of fighter an air battle cruiser delivering various types of heavy long range weaponry

Based on the shape, this is clearly designed for sustained super-cruise way up in the bozosphere. Based on the layout and type of intakes, it seems probable that the two outboard engines are optimized for supersonic flight and will likely provide almost all the thrust when it's up at its operational altitudes/speeds (whatever those are). The massive dorsal intake (which seems to be for the centerline engine) is by far the most interesting part (in my opinion). It's almost impossible to make an inlet like that work for supersonic flight using any conventional means. The shape of it just is terrible for drag and trying to use an inlet ramp or similar device to pre-compress the intake air. However, in theory, if you could bypass the air around the engine once the aircraft got up to a speed/altitude at which you could no longer maintain subsonic internal airflow to that engine, you could use the two outboard engines to give you enough thrust to maintain the pressure differential you need to use that massive centerline dorsal intake to supply its afterburner with enough air to essentially turn it into a giant ram-jet with almost zero moving parts
