They partnered with a 60 years old automobile company to produce this car. So it's not like they just jumped into car industry by themselves. A lot of EV is about tech and battery, that's where Huawei part comes in. Which is also why these tech companies are venturing into car manufacturing.

They should be allowed to sell everywhere and destroy our own brands and automakers. I literally do not care. If your idea of competing is being protected by the government you are not competing. It’s not a perfect vehicle but an excellent first attempt at a super luxury sedan. I have heard complaints about too much isolation resulting in motion sickness. The suspension is also not as good as Nio. Nio ET9 is also trying to crack into the segment with a different philosophy. People need to think about what these efforts will look like in 3/5/10 years if the cars are 67-75% cheaper than Bentley and Rolls Royce, and maybe 50% cheaper than Maybach. I would happily buy a car that is competitive with Rolls Royce for the price of a basic S Class or A8.

If we are strictly speaking of finishing, On par with Bentley and RR. The Maybach imo is better, also the cheapest amongst the European brands mentioned here. I have a Continental GT and a neighbour has the S680 and I’ve checked out the Maexstro in Shenzhen. I’ve only sat in the RR Phantom once when a friend became the RR distributor so that’s where I’m basing the RR quality on. But this is my subjective first hand experience. Huawei, Yangwang, Denza are really gaining traction in my neck of the woods, I’m actually looking at the Hongqi Guoli to replace my Continental GT, if my business grows as expected in 2026.

Funny, the graph has BMW 7 and Panamera at 1k and this at 2k sales FOR THE YEAR. Not much of a statistical sample. 0.00014% of Chinese people bought this car. Less than 15/100,000 of 1%.

Umm, maybe learn to read a chart? There is a horizontal x-axs too you see, which lists months. The Maextro is now selling 2,000 units PER MONTH, which is no slouch for a ultra-luxury segment car, especially a brand new one with a funny name and no brand recognition
