Same here! Whenever I see a Chinese flag, I get excited and proud, bc I remember China's suffering and compare it with today. West can try to bring China down, but this time, we are prepared. They can mock us/China, but the more they do, the more resilient China becomes. Don't you just love it when victims of bullies win at the end of the movie

The Chinese have every reason to be proud and patriotic. In 1978, China was an impoverished nation, weak and backward.
Less than 50 years later, China is the world's largest economy (when measured in real terms). China is technologically highly advanced. China is militarily supremely strong. China has the full political support of her citizens. China has the admiration and respect of three-quarters of humanity, whether this is measured in terms of number of countries or population size.
China is the greatest economic success story in human history. She has returned to her rightful place on the world stage, a position she held for more than 4,000 years (except for the brief interregnum of the Century of Humiliation).
The 21st century is China's century. Despite a few challenges (e.g., demographics, real estate, youth unemployment), China will dominate...peacefully. China will be a better steward of the world order than America ever was.
I am proud to call myself an ethnic Chinese (even though I was born and raised in Canada).
