There's no such naming as 003A for carrier. Carrier 002 was dub by world (West) media as 001A. But history shows PLAN name it carrier 002 #17. Unlikely there's such thing as carrier 003A hull #19. Carrier hull #19 will be name 004. China 1st nuclear-power carrier is carrier hull #20 be name 005.

Even if the Chinese can build a nuclear carrier the SIZE of the Ford Class, that doesn't mean it will be anywhere near equal in performance. Let's not forget the first Chinese nuclear submarine was arguably worse than its American counterpart, despite being laid down 20 years later. To be fair, the Chinese have learned a lot about shipbuilding since 1974, but I would be unpleasantly surprised if it started to venture further than its predecessors. However, I'd give it decent chance that it will stay even closer to home and that for a myriade of reasons but it's not like they can't learn from that.

The speed at which China is building its military while also carrying out all of its other projects is very impressive. Of course we don't know how they will fair in a fight with a larger or even near peer. We don't know that about the US either though.
