India spends over ₹2 lakh crores on roads every year, yet most of them start crumbling within months. Potholes alone kill over 2,000 people annually. Meanwhile, other nations have roads that last 40 years with the same monsoons and heatwaves we blame for ours.

印度每年在公路建设上的投入超20万亿卢比，可大部分公路才用几个月就开始破损。单是路面坑洼，每年就造成2000多人丧生。反观其他国家，面对和我们一样的季风与热浪——这些我们拿来当借口的自然条件，却能修出能用40年的公路。

My classmate's father is a road contractor. We grew closer by the day and became close friends. One day he told me how their business works. He said Tendors are decided by who gives more money to the politician before the tendors even began. And he told me that they themselves destroys their roads at night so that repairs keep coming. Idk why inspite of being good friends I felt so bad. So I cut down all the ties . Mind you this were only one of the things that were illegal he told me. He said all the money they have is all black money.

Every time I pay taxes on n number of things to get spine breaking roads, unbreathable air, undrinkable water, I know its going into a corrupt officer's pocket and there's not a damn thing I can do about it. That is why the competition to go to Singapore and Dubai is so much. Everyone wants to leave this system. Everyone wants accountability for their taxes which is pretty much impossible here. By the time the roads are "drivable", we would've all been gone by old age lol. Low key trying my best to get a job abroad too.

Few days back I had a discussion with one of my friend regarding India possibly hosting 2036 Olympics. This guy is a money master in my circle, literally knows how things work and clearly knows how to leverage money situations in his favour. I denied the argument saying we have many other problems to fix, Olympics will make a hole in our pocket and with that kind of money we can make a lot of change. He strongly denied saying it will improve tourism and the arena can be used for pay and play scheme. Firstly, Olympic village needs a lot of space. So, it will be setup in the outskirts. Events in Olympics are not our regular sports, there are many varieties. And the money involved in maintaining such spaces is through the roof. No one will travel to the outskirts of city to play a sport, also they should pay a premium to rent it. Even if govt maintains it, govt's wallet will dry up in rocket speed. I referred few websites regarding this and found that the ROI of hosting Olympics is not a guaranteed one. What surprised me was, how come a person with so much knowledge on money can be blindfolded by leader worship. Since then I've stopped discussing politics with him. Also, it's not about who's in the ruling, it's about everyone are the same. That is what pains my heart. Only then I realised how blindfolded people are. Good luck and cheers

前几天我和一个朋友聊，说印度要不要申办2036年奥运会。这哥们在我圈子里是理财高手，门儿清各种门道，特别会利用金钱为自己谋利。我反对申办，说我们还有一大堆问题要解决，办奥运就是烧钱，这些钱能用来做很多实事，改变很多现状。他却极力反对，说办奥运能促进旅游业，场馆还能搞付费使用的模式。首先，奥运村需要超大的场地，肯定得建在郊区。奥运会的比赛项目和我们日常的体育项目不一样，种类特别多。维护这些场馆的费用，高得离谱。没人会特意跑到郊区去运动，更何况还要花高价租场地。就算政府来维护，财政也会光速被掏空。我查了几个网站，发现办奥运会的投资回报率根本没保障。让我意外的是，这么懂理财的人，居然会因为崇拜领导人而变得盲目。从那以后，我再也不跟他聊政治了。而且问题根本不在于谁在执政，而是所有执政者都一个样。这才是最让我心寒的。我这才明白，原来很多人都被蒙住了眼睛。祝大家好运吧。

Hosting Olympics in a country where u can't even provide basic amenities to ur citizens is the stupidest thing ever. Leader/party worship can definitely make u act like a fool and that's what's happening to most of the people these days, thanks to our sold out media and endless propogandas..!

In Kerala, some unbelievable change happened in last 9 years, now we have excellent roads for the first time after independence. Reason: Current CM removed all private contractors from bidding for the road construction, and replaced with a corporative society in the control of Co unist party itself. What happened after?: All the private media, which are directly or indirectly owned by these contractors and the corrupt politicians, now attack the CM from all sides for years. And those population getting their knowledge from the news channels, they all hate the CM, and in recent panchayath election, Co unist party lost against BJP and Congress. Conclusion: You will lose election in India if you remove corruption, because the media is owned by the same corrupt politicians and businessmen benefiting from this corruption. The only way to get re-elected in India is to do extremely high amount of corruption, so that the corrupt through the media will make you another hero.

I want to take a big step of initiation but there are people who are afraid to take a step for their own country.I can't do it alone , it has to be a group of people. People are afraid of their future jobs or their career if they get arrested or harmed. The govt has to take the first step as mentioned in the video. There is no awareness of it. Everyone is used to it now.

One thing that we need to focus on is that anything that is cheaper is not the best. So give contracts to the contractors who perfectly builds it. In order to achieve this the government should maintain a record list of the contractors of their previous history. Second thing that needs to be done here is to have an overview that everything is going perfectly or not like a supervisor. And third thing that is required is that give knowledge I mean give free access to the public that the contract of making this road is given to whom and at what cost and maintain the feedback of the people.

我们要明确一点，便宜的东西未必是最好的。所以，修路的合同要给那些能把活干好的承包商。要做到这一点，政府得给所有承包商建立档案，记录他们的过往业绩。第二，要安排专人监督，全程把控工程质量，确保一切顺利。第三，要做到信息公开，让民众清楚知道，哪条路的合同给了谁、花了多少钱，还要收集民众的反馈意见。
