An aircraft with 181 on board crashed at South Korea's Muan airport on Sunday. All passengers are feared dead except two after it suffered a bird strike during landing, reported the national fire agency. One flight attendant and one passenger have been rescued so far.

周日，一架载有181人的飞机在韩国务安机场机场坠毁。据国家消防局报道，飞机在着陆时遭遇鸟撞，除两人外，其他人员恐全部遇难。目前已有一名空乘人员和一名乘客获救。

According to Yonhap News Agency, the incident occurred at 9.03 am (1203 GMT) as Jeju Air Flight 2216, travelling from Bangkok to Muan, was attempting to land. The aircraft landing gear reportedly malfunctioned after the bird strike.

据韩联社报道，事故发生在上午9点03分（格林威治标准时间1203），当时从曼谷飞往务安机场的济州航空2216航班正试图降落。据报道，飞机的起落架在遭遇鸟撞后发生了故障。

The fire department informed Yonhap that emergency teams were conducting rescue operations from the aircraft's rear section and that the 15-year-old Boeing 737-800 jet was 'almost completely destroyed.'

"The plane is almost completely destroyed, and identifying the deceased is proving difficult. The process is taking time as we locate and recover the remains," the fire department said in a statement.

An image captured at the scene displayed the aircraft's tail section ablaze near the runway's edge, with emergency response vehicles and firefighting units positioned nearby.

Meanwhile, Jeju Air CEO executive Kim E-bae, issued an apology and said they are determining the cause of the accident.

Once again, we pray for those who lost their lives in this accident and offer our deepest apologies to their bereaved families," he added.

“不管原因是什么，作为首席执行官，我对这起事件负有重大责任。济州航空将尽一切可能及时处理这起事故，并支持乘客家属。我们将与政府合作，尽最大努力查明事故原因。我们再次为那些在这次事故中失去生命的人祈祷，并向他们的家属致以最深切的歉意，”他补充道。

Saw someone commenting on what the pilot should have done—truly surprising. Pilots train for years and handle situations most of us can't even fathom. Speculating on how they 'should have avoided it' without any aviation knowledge is naive. Appreciate the concern, but such comments only reveal a lack of understanding of the complexties involved. if at all aeroplanes had emergency parachutes them both these crashes would have been handled without loss of life...if researchers can design rockets which can go to space and come back then why cant they research on emergency parachutes for aircrafts..

Landing should have been done in water when it was clear that the bird striked the landing gear and it was not openning this could have saved lives. Second option was to hover around to decrease fuel and keep fuel only for 3 attempts. Pilot is god and the god has taken lifes.

all this bling bling science around us but still for the sake of safety parachutes are not installed in airplanes to make them atleast land safely during such emergency..it was applicable for both the crashes happened this week since both planes had time till the last minute but no safety measures

The pilot should have landed in a nearby sea or lake after ensuring all passengers wore the life jaket , could have saved the life of many passengers.
